Lord Greene was so engrossed in his niece's letters that he didn't hear the recurrent knocks on the door. That same door burst open and a very tall, incredibly handsome man, with dark, long hair, a well-kempt goatee, and clothes so tight Parker could make out each muscle of the intruder's arms, chest, stomach, and thighs startled him. He instinctively wanted the man to turn around, to see what that view might offer. It had been too long since he had made love with someone. Parker instinctively reached for his sword, which, of course, wasn't there.
"Sorry to intrude, but when you didn't answer my repeated knocking, I grew concerned." His voice was strong, but kind. His attitude and style direct.
Parker stared at the man, lost in his deep, deep, brown eyes.
"It appears you don't remember me, so allow me to introduce myself. I'm Able Currant."
"Currant? What sort of name is that?" Parker wracked his brain; that strange name seemed somehow familiar.
"Don't really know. My father always suspected some great, great, great grandfather misspelled something when he was drunk and, well, here we are." Able Currant laughed in a good-natured way causing Parker Greene's knees to go a bit weak.
"Lord Parker Greene," he said formally and held out his hand. "You say we know each other? That we've met before?" Greene knew he'd have remembered meeting this one, with his languid, rippling muscles, chiseled jaw line, Roman nose....
The pirate took Parker's hand. "Oh, we're offering titles, are we? Well, I'm officially Lieutenant Ablest Currant. Everyone here calls me Able. Actually, there are some jokes..."
Their eyes locked.
Electricity passed into Parker Greene, drawing him a step closer as his breath caught. Parker wanted to reach up, touch the man's face, kiss the handsome stranger. But, he refrained, forcing himself to release the man's hand and look away for a moment. Something. He should say something. Change the subject. What had they been talking about? That they'd met before? Preposterous. He'd have remembered. Create a subject. Was there nothing he wanted to know? It dawned on him...
"Why am I being held captive? Captain Flynn said I'd be shown around. I'd get to see the under decks of the Balsa Robin. I'd—" He could feel the heat of blush at his neck, upon his cheeks.
Able reached up with a finger and placed it on Parker's lips. Parker Greene was silenced. The man's finger felt callused and rough. The thought of that finger, pushing into him, opening him, loosening him nearly caused the man to swoon.
"There are many things for us to discuss." Able stepped closer. The heat their bodies generated merged. He lowered his hand. "We ask each arrival a question. Your answer to this question will determine your future. It will decide whether you live—"
Parker swallowed hard. He leaned, ever so slightly, into Able Currant. Through the taught cloth of trousers their maleness touched.
"—or die," finished Able.
"What's the question?" Parker asked breathless. Their tight stomachs and hard chests were now touching.
"I'm not the one to ask it," Able whispered. His breath entered Parker's slightly parted lips.
"Who...is?" He licked his lips, nearly licking Able's lips.
"I'm to take you there now." Able gently brushed his mouth against Parkers and then stepped back.
Parker Greene was pulled forward into the wake created in the air between them; he tugged on his jacket and eyed Lieutenant Able Currant who held the cabin door open, the bulge in his crotch joining the show his other muscles were making of his tight clothes.
"After you," said the man, a twinkle in his perfect brown eyes.
