I don't understand why SuperM was created when all the artists in the group are already popular in their own rights. Taemin from SHINee, Baekhyun and Kai from EXO, Taeyong and Mark from NCT, and Lucas and Ten from WayV.

From the sounds of the news article, they wanted to create a group that encapsulates all the Kpops cores (which according to them are "vocals, choreography, fashion, and overall visuals") and make them more mainstream and available to the US.
But what about the rest of the world??? I'm pretty sure that there are more countries in the world than just America. Obviously America's the most important 🙄
Anyway, Kpop is already mainstream, some examples are BTS, Blackpink, NCT, Twice, EXO, just to name a few.
So what is the point in creating a group of already popular kpop stars???
I shouldn't complain about it, I'm literally listening to SuperM's mini album right now and Jopping is such a BOP. But there's soo many questions that I have for Capitol music and SM.
Like why did they pick those specific members from the different groups??? Is it how popular they are??? Or is it whose the hottest??? Why is Lucas and Ten in the group when they barely have any lines??? Why was SM the first one to get something like this and not JYP who is just as popular as SM??? Why not create a rookie group to do this???
Also, this may only be me but I think SuperM will flop within 5 years. The hype of them is still around and their mini album is pretty good. However, I have a feeling that after some more of their albums are out and it's not that different, the hype will die down about them. They'll become less relevant, bringing in less money until they flop.
