It had been five weeks since SeokJin had arrived in Olympus and the shop was finally set up, along with the apartment above. Jungkook had made it far easier by appearing to help every now and then! Jin figured it was after the work he was doing in the Olympus Center, since it was always when the streets were less crowded. The two had become close friends within that time. Jin found out that Jungkook actually lived in Olympus' castle, with the other favored Gods. That's where his parents must have spent most of their time. It was also immediately clear that Jungkook was the curious type. Constantly looking over Jin's shoulder, peering closely at his weapons and talking about the other people in town was something he enjoyed doing with ease. Jin found his company a little stressful at the start, but soon came to relax within it. So, within the first three weeks, the shop walls was lined with hooks, holding assortments of weapons that Jin had made with the occasional help of the younger man. He had also bought sturdy tables that were lined in the center of the room now. The tables were topped with small weapons or the accessories needed for said weapons. A small table next to the counter was dedicated to a small amount of jewelry. It was not something he made too often, but something he did to avoid scrapping pieces of metal that were too small to be used.
The first week of 'business' had consisted of people poking their heads through the door in curiosity before looking around briefly. Jin was not deterred however, he was well aware that being new to Olympus and expecting sales to just shoot up is an idiotic way of thinking. That's ignoring the fact that people say him come from the stairs to hell. It had been fairly entertaining to listen to the people's whispers however. It seemed the latest gossip referred to 'what he had done to be sent to the undergrounds'. It seemed at the very least however, that it did not completely deter people from speaking to him. While the conversations were short, people still started conversations and would ask questions freely. Jin was not an avid speaker but he still liked to converse with people who possibly shared interests. For example, there was a jewelry seller across the way that agreed to but some of his works and sell them in her store. Jin got eighty percent of the makings. Since her store was frequented more often by people looking for the pieces in question, it worked out well. She had taken up coming to Jin's store in the morning. She would bring over morning drinks and he would supply the breakfast.
Luckily on his second week of business, he became busier. He assumed Jungkook had something to do with it as the male had come in with extra large smiles that week. He also asked is specific people had came in to ask about weapons. So, yes, all Jungkook. While the business was hard to keep up with at times, it was much better then sitting uselessly behind a counter. He decided on opening for five hours a day and using the rest of the day to work on new projects. He worked on small things while to shop was open sometimes though, normally just the engraving that could be done on the counter at the back.
He was barely finished engraving it the sword he was working on when the bell above his door rang. Jin froze his hands movements and sighed in relief to see he hadn't messed up the initials. standing from his hunched position, he pushed his magnifying glasses onto the top of his head. With ease, he spun around to great the heavy footed customer that was likely there to receive the sword.
The man in front of him was defiantly not the worker he had met last week. He stood at over seven feet, was completely covered with muscles that bulged out and his face was set into a stern look of judgement. A far cry from the short and skinny man that had been sent to request the weapon. Thank god his store door was much larger then most! He rubbed the dust covering his hands onto his work apron.
"What can I do for you?" Jin asked as he turned back to quickly slide the sword into it's scabbard. He had picked a strong leather one, so it would not slip under the shear weight of the sword. Tying the thin ropes around the handle kept it from sliding to one side. Jin heard the man let out a sigh.
"I'm here to pick up a sword that one of my workers ordered for me." The man said as he heavy feet signalled him moving closer to the counter. His voice was the deepest that Jin had heard. He spoke as if he was used to commanding.
Turning around, Jin brought the sword/scabbard to the front counter.
"Done everything asked; sharp enough to cut through metal and armour, high level of duribility and heavy. " Jin said as the man took it from him.
"It seems it was good to take my sons recommendation then..." The man says causing Jin's curiosity to peek.
"Your son?"
"Jeon Jungkook. He recommended you, since my last sword maker decided that I was not of high priority to him. If the sword holds up, expect to see me more often. Also Jungkook told me to drop this off for you." The male said before quickly leaving the store.
Jin stares down at the letter in his hand as he was a left a little confused at the mans sudden exit. He unfolds the letter to see it is a invitation of some kind.
Dear new guy (sorry don't remember your name if I'm being honest)
I am leaving this as an invitation to a party that a friend of mine is holding (the son of Hermes and Hestia) since I don't really have anyone to invite. There will be a lot of other gods and their children, So enjoy and make some more friends!
Location: Olympus Castle
Date: 22nd January
Starting Time: 1pm
Jin couldn't help but chuckle at the invitation. He placed the piece of paper carefully on his workbench before going into the apartment above to see if he could find any thing suitable to wear for the part, seeing as it was the next day.
Thanks for the short notice Jungkook...
