"...No way...." Ja'far mumbled in disbelief as all the birds carried away the meat.
"But I thought it could be a clue to get us out of here... And now you're telling me this is just a feeding ground for those birds," said Mistoras tears running down his face.
"It's okay Mistoras," My brother reassured him. "Perhaps we've managed to stay alive until today... Because fate has been on our side." How were we supposed to just trust that everything would be okay...
"Ja'far, Mistoras, Amaris, we'll gather up all the meat again today!" Yelled the purpled haired boy. "Pick up every piece before the bird comes to get it! Don't leave a single piece behind. Give it your all!!" He said gathering up more meat and putting it in the basket.
"Sinbad, you said things like 'It's alright. Fate is on our side, but in the end, you really just wanted to eat all this meat," The boy continued to rant.
"Don't worry Mystras," Ja'far said calming Mistoras a bit. "Sin has some kind of plan. Even if we think this is meaningless, he's the type of person whose actions can change fate. So, let's believe in him," Ja'far said, smiling down at the older boy. I smiled as I walked over to my brother.
"Ja'far really trusts you, Sin," I smiled slightly sadly as I continued to pick up the meat.
"I guess you're right," He trailed off. "Oh look guys this one is fresh and not rotten! It'll be delicious!" He yelled waving a piece of meat in the air. There was a rather large boom and we all turned.
"A GIANT PIECE OF MEAT!!!" We all exclaimed.
"It's too big for us to carry it home, so let's cut it into smaller pieces," Mistoras sighed pulling out a sharp weapon.
"Wait, Mystras!" Sin yelled, "I've been waiting all this time for this meat to come... And of course, it's not just so that we could eat," he explained shocking Sin. "This is our destined transportation!"
Soon we were flying through the sky holding onto the big pieces of meat.
"KYAA! What the hell are they?!!" A girl exclaimed.
"My strategy succeeded," I laughed seeing my brother nonchalantly standing before the women as the other 2 boys stood in embarrassment and covered themselves up.
"There were things stuck to the meat, so I just thought it meant something... Now I get it... This is the reason behind it all," Ja'far said finally getting Sin's motive.
"Huh? What are you talking about, Ja'far?" Questioned Mistoras as the ex-assassin began to explain. I looked around and saw a bunch of men stare at us in confusion.
"Do you happen to have any extra cloth?" I really didn't like the fact that I was practically naked in front of so many people. One man handed me 2 cloths which I used to make a quick top and bottom. I then left with Ja'far as Mistoras to find our belongings, and I assumed Sin left to go get our metal vessels from the queen.
"Is it really okay for us to sneak into the royal palace and take our things back like this?" Mystras questioned as he was obviously nervous.
"It's not okay. If they find us, it'll be a big problem," Ja'far explained as we snuck through the city.
"Huh?! Then let's put it all back!" He exclaimed.
"Mystras! It's far more dangerous to let our enemies have our metal vessels!"Ja'far argued.
"There weren't any vessels here... The Queen probably has them," I trailed off as I saw my brother in his Djinn equipped. "Sin toss me my Sword!" I yelled to the boy in the air. He quickly tossed it down and I ran to grab it. I could feel the power course through my veins as I equipped my Djinn. I clenched my fists knowing it didn't matter what I had done. My brother would be sure to win... I mean his destiny is to create something grand so there might be small obstacles. I unequip my Djinn and go stand by Ja'far and Mistoras.
"You're not going to help?" Questioned Ja'far as he looked at me.
"I'm not needed," I answered as I continued to watch the fight.
"What do you mean you're not needed?" asked the boy.
"Sinbad's going to win," I looked up to see my brother defeat the Queen. "See," I pointed up and he only nodded. Soon we all started walking to the room that the Queen allowed us to sleep in. I ran in and jumped on the rather large bed before realizing that there was only one. "Guys, come sit!" I smiled grabbing a lantern and lighting with a match.
Soon the room was dark only being lit by the small flame, and the four all laid on the bed and talked.
"Guys what would you do if I disappeared?" I suddenly questioned as I looked at the others smiling sadly. A look of confusion was now plastered on their faces.
"What's this coming from Amaris?" My brother asked as I could clearly see the concern in his eyes.
"It's just I feel so useless...." I trailed off as I realized I was now frowning. "I haven't really contributed anything compared to everyone here. It's as if I'm stuck in everyone's shadow," I could feel the tears try to escape. "I want to do something amazing on my own... I want to stand in the light by myself and not hidden in someone's shadow," I said remembering all the times when I literally contributed nothing. "I don't want to be stuck in someone's destiny."
I looked at their faces and noticed the same thing. They were thinking of something to divert the subject.
"That's why I plan on going out and adventuring," I announced looking at their faces trying to find any emotion.
"No," said Sinbad cutting me off. I looked at the older boy in confusion.
"Why not?" I finally wanted to do something myself but I couldn't.
"You'll be in danger," Explained.
"Danger? I can protect myself!" I was outraged I was going on my adventure if they liked it or not.
"I agree with Sin, Amaris," I looked at Ja'far in disbelief. I tried looking at Mistoras for any support but sadly there was none.
"Fine," was all I managed to say as I rolled over facing away from the rest as I fell asleep.
