| FATES TWISTED GAME |
I laid on the bed and pondered on what to name the boy when it hit me.
"Xepher," I whispered and I heard the bathroom door open, I glanced over to see the boy with a towel wrapped around his waist. I noticed his hair was still drenched and picked up an extra towel and motioned for him to sit in front of me on the bed.
"How about Xepher?" I questioned while drying his hair gently with a towel. He turned to me with a look of confusion. "For your name I mean... I was thinking about 'Xepher'."
"It's nice.." I could see him smile.
"Then it's decided from now on your name is Xepher!" I smiled as I wrapped the towel around his head from keeping the remaining moisture from getting out. "Now then I'm going to take a quick bath," I announced laying my bag onto a chair as I walked into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.
I smiled as I let the dirty water go down the drain. Once it was empty I turned the knob to the warm side and watched it fill up with water. I looked in the mirror and saw my purple hair with my part that lays in the middle of my face. I looked at my yellow-amber eyes, and I sadly smiled thinking of my brother. I don't know why I suddenly felt sad... but I did. I sighed as I undressed and sat in the tub. It felt refreshing after days of walking through the desert.
I walked back into the room after my bath and saw Xepher cuddled into the blankets asleep. I smiled and put the bath products back into my bag before crawling into the bed.
—
"What are we gonna do?" Xepher questioned as he kept a firm grip on my hand whilst we walked through the town.
"Hm... I'm not too sure," I sighed. "I didn't think this through." I frowned.
"We'll figure something out!" Xepher grinned up at me, making me smile back down at him. I glanced in the distance and saw a familiar face. I was confused until I realized it was the same king that had helped Sin start his company.
"King Rashid!" I called out trying to gain his attention. I quickened my pace quickly catching up to the king.
"Amaris?" He questioned making me nod. "What are you doing out here and not with Ja'far?" This question confused me.
"Why would I be with Ja'far?" I questioned.
"It's just that he called a meeting with me due to something urgent popping up related to Sinbad."
"King Rashid... would you mind if I came along?" I asked, my voice was a lot softer and quieter compared to how it was a few moments ago. He nodded and I followed behind him with Xepher in hand.
"Are you okay?" He squeezed my hand gently.
"I don't know," I sighed pushing my hair back. "I'm scared." I softly chuckled.
Soon King Rashid's palace came into view and my heartfelt as if it was going to rip right out of my chest. The only thing keeping me from completely breaking down Xepher. I was so glad to have him as my comrade.
I felt my grip on Xepher's hand tighten as we stood in front of a rather large door. King Rashid opened it rather quickly, revealing a stressed Ja'far seemed to be sitting on one of the couches. When he looked up I felt my heart drop. What had happened while I was away?
"Ja'far?" I called out taking a step into the room, my grip on Xepher tightening. "Where's Sinbad?" I questioned, something was VERY wrong.
"He ran off and did something rash, didn't he?" King Rashin asked, sitting down and gesturing for me and Xepher to join them.
"He... He did," Ja'far started. "He agreed to a challenge that he wasn't able to win and became a slave."
"Sinbad's a slave...?" I could feel the tears stream down my face. I could barely hear anything as I thought and thought. Sinbad wouldn't lose... It's impossible... Yeah.... it's just a sick joke. "You're lying!" I snapped, jumping to my feet. My brother was an utter dumbass but he wouldn't do something thing this dumb.
"Amaris," his eyes softened as he stared up at me.
"He wouldn't do something like that!" I yelled once again as tears started to pool. Ja'far reached out towards me but I just slapped his hand away. Sinbad wouldn't put his whole life- his dream on the line. He wouldn't leave me. "I have to see him with my own eyes," I took another step away from Ja'far and a small hand made its way onto my arm.
Xepher looked up at me from the couch, he was worried. I plastered on a small smile and ruffled his hair.
"Ja'far please watch Xepher," I glanced towards the small assassin, "Don't let anything happen to him... please," I took a deep breath and when I reopened my eyes not only did I have my djinn equipped but Ja'far had managed to wrap himself around me, I gave in and ruffled his short white hair.
"Nothing will happen to him," he looked up at me, "I promise."
"Thank you," I softly said before turning towards king Rashid. "Thank you, your highness," I said before bowing.
Before the guards even had a chance I had managed to open one of the windows and fly out. The next stop was Ria Venus island and honestly, I had no clue as to what would come next.
By the time I arrived at the island the sun had already disappeared and in its place was the moon. It made it a whole lot easier to sneak around. The island itself reeked of nobles and there wasn't anything cheerful about it.
I followed one of the rivers which lead to what seemed to be the biggest building, excluding the colosseum, on the island. The river broke off into several smaller passageways and the only thing I could do was trust in my gut.
I glanced up towards the moon before focusing on the different passageways when I realized that one of them had so much more light reflecting off of it. It was strange, it gave off a subtle glow so I figured it had to be the right way.
As I approached the end my stomach dropped. The sound of water falling filled the air and in the near distance, there was a drain. I took a deep breath and jumped into the water, there wasn't enough to completely soak me but it definitely got my shoes wet. I took to my knees, trying to see what was underground. I choked back a sob when a familiar silhouette came into view.
"Sinbad...?" I whispered, staring at the figure. Long dark hair that gave off a subtle purple hue cascaded down their skinny body. They glanced up towards me and I gasped.
"Amaris..?" He whispered, his eyes widening before the door was slammed open. A lady with dark hair and eyes entered and embraced my brother. I gritted my teeth when I watched him cling to the lady, his eyes flickering from mine to hers.
"Shhh Sinbad," She rubbed the back of his head. "Everything's ok," She cooed. I sat there in shock. My jaw tightened as I felt my hands push even farther into the concrete. How could this happen? The lady snapped her head towards me, displaying her sickening grin as she held onto the now helpless Sinbad.
"Sinbad!" I yelled, giving in to the lump in the back of my throat. "This isn't you! Snap out of it!" I cried, pulling against the bars. "What happened to wanting to create the perfect country!" I screamed and felt my voice starting to give out. I had to get him out, but the bars wouldn't let out.
"Stop right there!" I raised my head to see that at least 30 officials surrounded me.
"Fate must really hate me," I laughed, well aware that my magoi was drained and my hands were too bloody and numb to put up a good fight.
I finally gave in to continuing this book since I never reached the part of the story that I really wanted to get to. So I'll probably upload chapter 16 in a few hours :))) That is if I finish it by then and not get distracted lmao. Wish me luck TT
