| If you forget something it must mean that it isn't that important |
5 days had seemingly passed, each one I was stuck in the box with only an hour out of it daily. During that hour of free time I sat in the cafeteria and ate with the same group of children that I sat with on my first day. I was starting to like it here. All my troubles disappeared when I looked at Lady Maader, it was reassuring. All my stress just vanished whenever she embraced me.
After my hour of free time was up I wasn't met with the box but instead I was met with Fatima. I stared at him questionably since he was normally happy to bring me to the confined space. He guided me into a medium sized room that had some children sewing clothes.
"Get to work," He scoffed, pushing me inside, slamming the door behind him. Everyone focused on their work and I joined them. I walked over to an empty seat and picked up the thread and began sewing. Did I know how to sew? Of course not! Once one of the higher up kids noticed how my progress was doing they quickly dragged to a different room.
This one seemed a lot more laid back since it was just children clustered into groups chatting away. In the corner of my eye I saw someone familiar. I gasped and quickly rushed towards him and pulled him into an embrace.
"Xepher!" I exclaimed, ruffling his short red hair. I grinned, pushing him back to see how he was when I realised something, that wasn't Xepher. My eyes dulled and the boy just stared at me confused. "...Sorry," I whispered before quickly turning heel and walking away.
"How could I forget about them?" I muttered quietly walking to an unoccupied corner.
"Erase my presence?" I questioned leaning against the edge of the boat. Ja'far nodded walking over to me.
"We learned how to do it back at the organization," he explained grabbing onto the ledge. He was previously rambling about how it would be good to learn it.
"Mystras you're about to fall off!" I exclaimed at the red head who was attempting to balance on the edge. Though my sentence seemed to catch him off guard, thus resulting in him taking a small splash in the ocean. I snorted watching as both Hinahoho and Sinbad tried helping him back up.
"I'm so Stupid." I clenched my fists before slamming it into the wall which in turn altered some of the higher ups. Lady Maader engulfed me in a hug and began caressing my hair like she had done for the past 6 days, except this time it wasn't comforting. It was nauseating. I immediately acted like how I had done the previous day to prevent suspicion.
"Idiots..." Ja'far muttered sliding down the side to where he was sitting.
"It takes one to know one!" I grinned, nudging his foot with my knee. In a split of a second I found myself wrapped around tightly in a thin thread. I looked down to see Ja'far glaring at me. "Sorry, Sorry!" I attempted to raise my hands in mercy but failed to do so.
"What's wrong my Amaris?" She cooed brushing through my hair.
"I just got into a small argument... I'm sorry for worrying you," I smiled and she returned it. I held my breath as she pulled me into another hug before walking away. I sighed before turning around and walking back towards the fanalis boy.
"You're not like the rest of them," I said in disbelief and he just looked at me with the same blank face. "You never gave into her manipulation," I whispered, taking a seat across from him. "How?"
"I'm a proud fanalis," He sharply said, his pride catching me off guard.
"Well... thank you for snapping me out of my trance," I bowed slightly and a small smile lit my face.
"You're related to that boy, aren't you?" He asked, catching me off guard.
"Boy?" I said, "D'you mean Sinbad?" I questioned leaning closer and he nodded. I hadn't seen Sinbad at all during my time here.... it must've been because of Lady Maader.
"Masrur!" A voice exclaimed and I gasped. A familiar mop of purple hair came into view. He completely ignored me and went straight to Masrur. "They made you fight again?" He questioned taking note of the large weapon beside the boy and the scratches on his face.
"Sinbad?" I gasped seeing my brother in his current state, he was just like how I was before. Worry free and normal, but not his normal.
"Hmm, I don't believe we met," he smiled glancing over towards me. "I'm sinbad it's nice to meet you," he outstretched his hand but I merely slapped it away.
"What are you talking about? I'm your sister," I snapped standing to my feet. He cocked his head in confusion, as tears began to pool. "You remember me right Sin... it's me Amaris," I whispered, placing a hand on my chest.
"Sorry that doesn't seem to ring a bell," he scratched the back of his head with a small smile.
"Fate really is just a sick joke," I muttered walking over to a group of kids in another corner. I crawled up bringing my knees to my chest as I just listened to the kids talk. I had to get out of here, but more importantly I had to get my brother back.
"I promise... I'll get us out of here," I stared up at the ceiling, reaching for the freedom that I could barely taste.
