"Look, there's no time. We have to put a stop to this." Adora spoke with a serious desperation. Catra tilted her head, "What? Why?" Adora's eyes narrowed in worry and panic. "Because this is a civilian town." She motioned to the ruins around her as screams echoed in the distance, "Look around! These aren't insurgents! They're innocent people!" Catra retorted, laced in sarcasm, "Yeah, sure. Innocent people who kidnapped a Horde officer." She grabbed adora's wrist and started to pull her along as she walked, "Come on, let's get you back to the Fright Zone." Catra continued as they walked, "Shadow Weaver is freaking out." She giggled before deadpanning, "It'd be funny if she weren't such a terrible person." Adora stopped and spoke with force, "Catra, no." She yanked her wrist from Catra's grasp. "I can't go back." Her eyes narrowed with ferocity, "Not until the Horde leaves this town alone."
"You have to help me!" She called out towards Catra. Catra turned to face Adora, "What are you saying?" Her eyes were narrowed as she looked at Adora in confusion. Adora looks at Catra with a solemn voice at the truth that's come to light, "I'm saying that this is wrong." Her eyes narrowed in anger, "They've been lying to us, manipulating us! Hordak, Shadow Weaver, all of them..." Catra blinked before bursting out, "Duh! Did ya just figured that out?" Adora's eyes widened in surprise at what Catra revealed. "Manipulation is Shadow Weaver's whole thing." Catra voiced in exasperation, "She's been messing with our heads since we were kids." 'You never realized it because of her favoritism towards you, but unlike you, I was treated horribly by her!' Catra held in those words, not wanting to drag this on more than necessary.
Adora looked at Catra in disbelief and horror, "How could you be okay with that?" Catra's heterochromic eyes glanced to the side before focusing on Adora again. She looked at Adora straight in the eyes, "Because, it doesn't matter what they do. The two of us look out for each other." She placed her hands on Adora's shoulders as a sign of their bond. She looked at Adora and replied in a softer voice, "And soon we'll be the ones calling the shots." Her lips quirked up into a smile as she spoke. Adora looked at Catra in a mix of disbelief and disgust, but with everything going on, Catra wasn't sure what the emotions crossing her face meant. "Now come on. Can we go home already?" Catra motioned to go, just as an explosion went off.
The screams resounded louder and Adora looked at Catra with a serious ferocity, strengthening her will to do this. "I'm not going home, Catra. I can't. Not after everything I've seen." Adora grasped Catra's hand and looked at her, eyes pleading, "Come with me. You don't have to go back there. We can fix this." Catra glanced at their joined hands and made a face before breaking from Adora's hold. Catra looked stricken, "Are you kidding?" Catra's face showed hurt and betrayal, "You've known these people for, what, a-a couple hours?" She narrowed her eyes as her ears faced down, "And now you're gonna throw everything away for them?" She waved her hands in disbelief, glaring at Adora, "Ugh. What happened to you?" Adora looked lost as she responded, "I don't know..." Her bluish gray eyes narrowed, "But I have to do something. I'm sorry, Catra." She turned away and started to walk off.
"GYAAah!" Adora shrieked as Catra tased her from behind. Adora fell to the ground. Catra's face was muddled with hurt and looked as if she had just tasted something disgusting. "Hnng," Adora struggled to lift herself up as Catra pointed the taser stick at her. "Uhck." Catra then stepped back and pointed the weapon down, "Oh, man. That was a lot stronger than I thought." She winced at her own actions, before checking on Adora, "Are you okay?" No matter how crazy some of the things Adora was saying, Catra cared about Adora with all her heart. She was basically a sister to her. Adora forced herself up, "Catra!- AAck." Catra accidently tased her once more on reflex, "I'm sorry! It was a reflex!" She looked guilty as Adora narrowed her eyes at her from the ground. "Why... Why are you doing this?" She lifted her head, questioning Catra, feeling betrayed.
Catra looked at Adora, before responding, letting how pained she felt seep into her voice. "Because you left me!" Catra was upset, but she had the fear ingrained in her of what Shadow Weaver could and would do with her, if she didn't bring Adora back. "And if I don't bring you back, Shadow Weaver's gonna have my head. So enough with your weird little identity crisis and let's go home already." Catra's ears were flattened as she pleaded with Adora. All Catra wanted to do was head home with Adora. She then raised her weapon after Adora's silence, "Or do I need to zap you again?" Just as she finished her sentence, Catra burst out into a shriek as a glittery, blinding light burst into her face. Glimmer and Bow arrived on the horse that Adora had admired earlier that day.
