It was a silent gray afternoon in North Carolina. A young girl sits by her window and wonders what the world is like outside her lifeless bedroom. Every step taken out of her room is a risk. A risk of hatred, pain, and brokenness. One day, this girl took those risks and defenestrated them. She set foot outside of her room. Being taunted by the evil boy who lives within her cold house, her brother. Who knew what being isolated from everyone else would do to such a sweet girl. Many people wondered this as she ignored the insults and hate thrown at her as she enters or exits a room. She turns through one room to the next until finally, she's at the front door. She opens the door slightly. The rush of cold and crisp air flows against her face, the rich smell of Earth fills her nose. She decides to open the door all the way and take her first step onto the porch. Neighbors stare in surprise as they have never seen this girl exit this house before. The young girl makes her way up the lonely street. She takes a turn into the wooded thicket. Hard to explain what she felt, the girl didn't express any excitement for anything anymore. She has been distracted by the fresh smell of pine trees all around her. She continues on a journey until she finds and shack, and approaches it slowly.
