Chapter 12. Always have, Always Will
It has been two weeks since I was released from hospital. Two weeks since I was told my father abused me, two weeks since I found out he ran away, two weeks since I found out that I apparently have the most loving boyfriend and two weeks since I’ve been trying to remember.
Tyler and mum have not given up. Every opportunity they get they are trying to bring me places, show me photos or things that are sentimental. The only thing I really remember is mum and dad. I don’t even remember Holly. I feel so bad, I don’t even remember my own sister!
Nothing is improving with Tyler, I still don’t remember a thing about him.
But one day that changed.
---
It was 3am when I woke with a start. I finally remembered something. A little boy, with black hair and a smile of gold. He constantly called me ‘Amby’.
He was my bestfriend, he meant the entire world to me, we played every single day without fail, but then he just disappeared, he and his family. They made happy, he made me happy.
So this is why I'm currently standing in front of my mirror, wearing black flower shorts and a grey long sleeved crop top. I had asked my mom and Tyler to meet me in the living room, so I could discuss my dream, to see if this boy is actually real, or if I'm just starting to create things I wish were real.
I'm currently living with mom, while Holly stays with Tyler's parents, for safety reasons. Apparently I would be there too but because of my memory loss, everyone though it would be best for me to stay with mom, so I could regain my memory faster.
I made my way downstairs, and heard mum and Tyler talking lightly.
“Hey Gorgeous” Tyler said as he saw me, a bright smile was lit across his face.
“Hey” I smiled, and blushed lightly at his words. I sat next to him on the love seat, and he wound his arm around my waist, giving me the comfort I was silently seeking.
“So honey, what did you want to talk to us about?” mom said, smiling as she took a sip of her tea.
“Before I tell you, I want you guys to not laugh at me. I want you to be honest” I said, looking at them both.
“Of course” both mom and Tyler said,
“Well, last night I had a really weird but pleasant dream” I started, my eyes looking out the large window in front of me.
“I was in the backyard, I was playing around, running actually giggling uncontrollably. There were light excited footsteps following me, a boyish laugh filled my ears. I turned around a saw a little black haired boy grinning at me, chasing me"
"He kept calling me ‘Amby’. Was this just a weird dream? Or did this really happen” I said, as I broke my trance from the window and looked up at mom, who was frozen in shock.
I rose my eyebrows and looked at Tyler. It was then when I noticed that his hold on my waist had tightened, his eyes wide with shock.
“What?” I exclaimed looking between the two.
“What is it? Why are you both so shocked?” I said, lightly shaking Tyler.
“I can’t believe after all these years you remember” Mum said, and all of a sudden an excited squeal come from her.
“What are you on about? Did you spike your tea mom?” I raised my eyebrows.
Mom laughed at me, and shook her head.
