30 Fun Facts for 30 Stories
1. All my stories are realistic stories. There are no paranormal, fantsty, sci-fi stories, just regular YA fiction.
2. More times than not I listened to other songs instead of the song I was writing the story on for that song. (But sometimes I would listen to the song multiple times when my writing came to a standstill.)
3. When it struck midnight on November 1, I began writing Day 1 (“Flashlight”) but about halfway through I stopped and finished it later that day.
4. It was fun—well, kind of fun—to write from a suicidal person’s point of view in Day 2 (“Pompeii”).
5. I honest to goodness hate the story I wrote for Day 4 (“All You Ever”).
6. Colton from Day 4 (“All You Ever”) left you with a question: why did he act like that? I’m not sure myself, but I chalk it up to be that he was diagnosed with a bipolar mental illness a few weeks, maybe even a couple months, before the story takes place.
7. The song for Day 5 (“Mean”) reminds me of someone who bullied me for three years straight back in my elementary days.
8. I chose the song for Day 6 (“Welcome to New York”) based for the city I want to live in after I graduate from high school.
9. Day 7 (“Waiting for Superman”) is based on a future event. I can just see all my friends leaving me to dance with their dates and with me being dateless I’ll want to leave. But unlike my story no cute boy will come over and ask me to dance.
10. I absolutely love the outfits I made for the dance crews in Day 9 (“Roundtable Rival”).
11. It was so late at night when I wrote Day 12 (“Little Things”) that I wrote the most lovey-dovey, sappy story I’ve ever written in my life because I was so tired.
12. For Day 14 (“Fallen Angels”) I had no clue where I was going with the story so I just wrote.
13. The old woman in Day 14 (“Fallen Angels”) is named after my grandmother.
14. I modeled the main character for Day 15 (“Write Your Story”) after myself (and I have no shame in doing so).
15. Day 16 (“You Belong with Me”) is a really personal to me.
16. I changed the outfit for the main character in Day 17 (“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”) so much because I couldn’t decide.
17. I wanted to make readers cry when they read Day 18 (“Beating Heart”).
18. It took only 1½ hours to write Day 19 (“Something I Need”). The reason is because it was late and I was so tired and just wanted to go to bed.
19. I really do use the song for Say 20 (“Lux Aeterna”) is help me write fighting/angry scenes.
20. I’ve had the song for Day 23 (“Star Wars Theme”) planned to play at my wedding for several years now.
21. I was inspired by The Fault in Our Stars in writing Day 24 (“I Lived”).
22. I modeled Day 26 (“Mirrors”) to be a bit like Alice in Wonderland (hence the main character’s name in my short story) and Snow White.
23. I can play the song for Day 26 (“Mirrors”) on my clarinet.
24. I chose the song for Day 27 (“Moonlight Sonata”) because my mom loves that it.
25. My favorite story out of all have them I wrote would have to be Day 27 (“Moonlight Sonata”).
26. I plan on expanding on several stories I wrote, those being Day 6 (“Welcome to New York”), Day 9 (“Roundtable Rival”), Day 11 (“Top of the World”), Day 18 (“Beating Heart”), Day 21 (“Secret Love”), Day 22 (“All Too Well”), Day 27 (“Moonlight Sonata”), and Day 28 (“Somewhere in My Car”).
27. I’m not too happy with how Day 3 (“Boom Clap”), Day 8 (“How He Loves”), and Day 13 (“Story of My Life”) turned out.
28. I instilled a bit of my dad into Day 8 (“How He Loves”), Day 10 (“Rainy Season”), and Day 19 (“Something I Need”).
29. I got the ideas for Day 17 (“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”) and Day 25 (“Shake It Off”) when I was at a weekend retreat.
30. The artist who has the most songs on my tracklist is Taylor Swift (where I used six songs by her).
