Chapter Eight: Some "Familiar Faces"

Brooklyn, New York
6:43PM

"So... You guys think that Roy went off the deep end?" Tigress asks the pair of heroes as they stake out their archer friend's apartment. "Again?"

"Your Roy did drugs, too?" Nightwing inquired as he used a small pair of binoculars to look in through the windows.

"Yeah. But he got clean for his daughter," Tigress added as she inspected her collapible now. "That and my sister can be very..."

"Convincing?" Flash smirking.

"Yeah," she chuckled back.

"Still can't believe that Cheshire is your sister over there," 'Wing shook his head.

"Then you better not push me, Birdie," Tigress smirked, polishing her sword. "Cause, us cats have claws."

"No doubt," the bird smiled, then scoffed. "Ughhh!! I can't see anything. The windows are all blocked."

"Why not just knock on the door?" Tigris suggested, standing up and readying a zipline arrow. "He's your friend, right?"

She fired, and prepped to zip down the line.

"So, why not just go and say hello?"

Roy groaned as he crawled out of bed. There was some woman pounding on his door, and shouting about some trash bags he left in the stairwell.

"For the last time! Those aren't mine!" He growls back just as angrily.

He finally opens the door, ready for the heated argument that usually comes with confronting his short-tempered neighbors.

Instead, he is taken aback by the blonde woman in form-fitting black and orange. But, he still recognizes her outfit from Oliver's files.

"Tigress," Roy grits.

Jumping back, he unintentionally gave her an opening to enter the apartment.

"My... Aren't you a jumpy one?" The blonde teases as she enters.

Roy jumps over the couch and returns with a volley of arrows from his crossbow, which Tigress dodged effortlessly.

She ducks behind the counter, and exclaims, "Jeez, Roy!! Calm down!"

"Why should I listen to you!?!" Roy shouted back. "You're an assassin! Jade sent you! Didn't she!?!"

The redhead grunted as he reached for his quiver to reload.
"Guess she's to much of a coward to kill me herself."

"No!! She didn't send me! I'm not even from this world!! I came here on my own, because your friends are too stupid to just use the front door to talk to their friend!" Tigress grunted. She stood up and took off her mask. Then, removed her bow quiver and sword; laying them all on the counter. "Look!! They said that you needed help. Either with a possible relapse, or this conspiracy you've uncovered."

Roy looked up and saw the blonde backing away from her weapons; her hands raised above her head.

After a beat of them just staring at each other, Roy asked, "What friends?"

"Flash and Nightwing," she answered, slowly lowering her hands and taking a step closer to him. "They're on the roof across the street. And, right now, the way you are acting is not helping you, Red. Whomever is behind this conspiracy... You're playing right into their hands, by being so paranoid and closing yourself off when others don't agree with you."
