The Attack

Tessa's POV
As of now, the bidders and I are surrounding the Vipers' hideout. They had originally wanted to bring the Ice Dragons for backup, but I believe a smaller group would be better for this operation. There are 6 phases to our plan, but I highly doubt our first plan of attack will work. They rarely do, so we devised a few backup plans just in case something happens.

Phase 1: I will hack into the security system. Eisuke will watch us through our heat signatures and guide us through. He will notify us of any incoming enemies and disable any traps that would be set.

Phase 2: Since he's a thief, Baba has to sneak in and cut the security and electricity. Since the leader always checks in on security often due to his paranoia, it has to be quick and he must act as the security team.

Phase 3: The rest of us will wait for the guards to switch shifts to move in. During the switch, I will use my blow darts to quickly knock them out without raising suspicion.

Phase 4: Ota and Mamoru will act as the new guards.

Phase 5: Soryu and I will sneak in. Soryu will be there to make sure I am able to get to Rico's office. I had asked him and everyone else to try to knock the Viper members out rather than kill them. Of course, if their life is on the line, then killing them is inevitable.

Phase 6: I will confront Rico and try to talk sense into him. If that fails, I will pull the trigger on him and hopefully defeat him and end his tyranny over the gang.

I have already hacked into the system, so Eisuke has been guiding him to the security room through our communication devices. We are just waiting for his signal to move on to the next phase.

"I'm in. You're clear to commence to Phase 3," Baba said through our earpieces.

"Alright. If I calculated this correctly, they should be switching shifts soon," I said. About ten minutes after, they switched shifts and I used my blow darts on certain pressure points to make sure they got knocked out on the first try. If not, there would be a ruckus and we will get noticed. "Phase 3 complete. Mamoru, Ota, change into their clothing while we hide the bodies. Eisuke, please make sure you keep an eye on the bodies so they won't be able to notify the others."

"Who do you think I am?" Eisuke replied arrogantly like always.

"An egotistical jerk who thinks he rules the world."

"Why you-"

"Don't lose your temper now. It's unbecoming of the great Eisuke."

"I told you to stop-"

"Phase 4 complete," Ota said cutting off our banter.

"Sweet. Let's go, Soryu."

"Right," Soryu responded. Surprisingly, it was quite easy to get in which made Soryu and I suspicious. No mafia hideout is this easy.

"Soryu, we must be on guard. Something isn't right."

"You're right. It's too quiet."

"Hopefully this isn't a trap." Right after I said that, we were quickly surrounded. "I just had to jinx us. Well, I hope you're as good as I heard."

"Skill isn't the problem here. They clearly outnumber us 100 to 1." And so, the battle started. Although Soryu and I put up a good fight and defeated about half of them, they were still mafia members that weren't easy to fight. Naturally, we got tired and out performance started to deteriorate. Both of us already ran out of bullets, well, I had one left, but that's for my fight with Rico, if I ever get there. So, we've been dodging bullets while fighting close combat.

"I don't know how much longer I can keep this up, Soryu."

"Same here."

"Hey, Eisuke, I thought you were supposed to warn us about stuff like this," I joked. When I didn't hear anything from the other side, I started to get worried. "Eisuke?"

"Your little friend is indisposed at the moment," an unknown voice said. Being distracted, it wasn't long before they captured Soryu and I. We also heard another fight going on through the earpiece.

"Tch. These people are no joke," Baba said out of breath. "Ah!"

"Baba!" I cried out. Soon, some members took our earpieces out, not gently at all, and crushed them in their hands. Then, they took us to the cells. As I was harshly pushed in, I saw all the bidders in the cell. "Why aren't you killing us?"

"The boss said he wanted you alive," one responded.

"Why? For what purpose?"

"I don't know. I just follow orders." With that, everybody left but two guards.

"Sorry, everybody. It's my fault you might all be killed," I bowed in front of them. I felt so guilty for getting them all involved.

"Stop that. It's unbecoming of the great Tessa," Eisuke said.

"But-"

"Eisuke is right. Although we knew the dangers, we decided to fight with you," said Soryu.

"Besides, there's nothing that can defeat us," said Baba.

"So, you have a plan?" I asked.

"Well...no. I'm just trying to optimistic here." Once again, I felt bad. "Ow!" Ota and Soryu had just hit Baba on the head. Since Soryu's gun was taken, he didn't have much of a choice but to go physical.

"Ignore this idiot," said Ota. For some reason, the bidders always made me smile; however, it'll take a miracle for us to all get out of this alive.
