Tessa's POV
"It's about time," I said.

"You look horrible," Eisuke said.

"Cause that's what every girl wants to hear. Just get me out of here." I know I'm making him mad. I could literally see a tick mark forming on his head. Even so, he still pulled me up, roughly may I add. "Hey, be gentle. I just took a beating and the wounds aren't healed yet."

"For someone who just took a beating, you seem quite energetic."

"A good leader cannot show weakness. You should know that more than anyone, Eisuke." He was just silent before he scooped me up in his arms and started to run out of the building. "Hey, what are you doing?"

"You're too injured to do something productive. In your condition, you'll just slow me down."

"Wow. The great Eisuke is actually running and being kind. That's out of character."

"I don't have a choice. The Vipers are a strong organization and I don't know how long Soryu's men can hold them off. We have to get out of here quickly."

"I never thought I'd see the day that the great Eisuke would admit there is an enemy too great for him."

"Well, thanks to your people blackmailing us, we had a time limit. If we had more time, we could've figured out a better plan of action."

"I've never seen the great Eisuke lose his composure."

"Quit it with this 'great' thing. It's annoying."

"Is it now? Well, I'm definitely using it now," I said with a smirk. I saw he was grinding his teeth together. Who knew he had a side like this.

"There's the helicopter. We're almost there." People we're firing bullets right and left. There was no way we could get there without getting injured; however, that idiot just ran through.

"Are you crazy?!?" I exclaimed. He was quiet until we made it to the helicopter. Baba and Ota were there. They both said something but I didn't hear them. I was too speechless. He was able to run through all those bullets without getting shot. "How-"

"Heh. I never thought I'd see the great Tessa speechless."

"That's impossible. How did you not get injured in some way? There were bullets flying in all directions."

"That's Eisuke for you. He makes the impossible possible," said Baba. Ota said something as well but I couldn't hear him. My vision was getting blurry and my body was going numb. Black splotches were covering my vision until all I saw was darkness.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

An annoying noise woke me up from my peaceful sleeping. Let's just say I'm not pleasant when I first wake up, so the first person who walked through the door got a knife thrown at them. Where I got a knife...well, let's just say I have my ways.

"Well, it seems like you're awake," a blonde-haired man said like a knife wasn't thrown a centimeter from his head.

"Next time your stupid machines wake me up, I won't miss," I said crankily.

"Noted. Now, let's check to make sure everything's healing okay, Sexy Bones."

"Sexy Bones?"

"Yes. Your bones are absolutely amazing. The most sexiest bones I've ever seen."

"Pervert," I said putting my arms over my breasts. He just chuckles.

"My name is Luke by the way. I'm your doctor if you haven't figured it out already."

"Unfortunately, I had. Just my luck. I had to have a pervert as a doctor."

"Well-oh wait," he said with urgency.

"What?"

"I forgot. Eisuke told me to call him when you woke up. My apologies but I must call him." With that, he just walked out the door. To say I was shocked was an understatement. I mean...what kind of doctor leaves a patient to talk to someone? What has my life come to?

~Time skip~

Joe walks into the room.

"You look like a bus ran over you," he said.

"Jeez. Thanks," I said sarcastically.

"No problem." It's silent for awhile while he checks out the room I'm in. "This is like your second home. Always getting injured," he said shaking his head.

"I'll be fine. I'm tough...remember. As long as I have you guys, I won't give up without a fight. You guys are useless without me," I joked but he didn't laugh.

"Tess, I'm serious. You have to stop getting yourself into these death threatening situations. We really do need you." But they don't need me anymore. They've become amazing people who can now survive on their own.

"Joe, have you ever wanted to get out of the gang, settle down and have a family?"

"Why?"

"Just wondering."

"Honestly, I've never really thought of it. Paying you back for everything you've done for me has been the only thing on my mind."

"Then...your debt has been paid in full. You've fought many battles, risking you life, and I could never ask for anything more from you. You and the rest of the gang are free to do whatever you want now."

"Tess..."

"In fact, I'm disbanding the gang."
