“Mom?”

“Yes Justin?”

“Can you tell me what happened?”

“Ok. Sit down.”

“Ok mama.”

“So four months ago you were coming home from a party and since it wasn’t that far you walked. This drunk driver came out of nowhere and hit you. You suffered broken ribs, a broken leg, and your left arm was broken.”

“Oh.”

“So then you were on life support and then a coma and I didn't let them unplug you. I needed my baby son alive.”

“Ma, I’m 15.”

“Oh I know. I know. Getting so old.”

“Mama. Can you tell me about Violet and how I started dating her?”

“I don’t really know. I know you were 13 when y’all started. You had only told me that she’s been your friend since fifth grade. “

“Oh.”

“Honey?”

“Yeah?”

“Do you wanna go see her?”

“Sure I guess.”

“What do you mean I guess?”

“I don’t really remember her, but I do remember  Felix.”

“Oh okay. Well maybe we’ll see her later.”

“Mama?”

“Yeah.”

“Am I gay?”

“I don’t think so. I mean if you are, it’s okay.”

“I think I might like Felix.”

“You’re dating his sister though.”

“In my dream I was dating him instead and I had never met Violet before.”

“Oh. Well Maybe that’s a sign.”

“Maybe. Ma. I wanna see Violet now. I have questions for her.”

“Ok then. Sure.”

“Cool.”

“I’ll just drive you there and then you guys can talk.”

“Thanks ma.”

After about 25 minutes I was at Felix and Violet’s house. Mom drove off. Really ma. Really. I braced myself for this. I slowly rang the doorbell, rocking on the balls of my feet. I heard the shuffling of feet coming to the door.

“I got it.” a girl’s voice said.

“Justin?” Violet said.

“Um. Hi Violet.”

“You’re awake.”

“Yeah. Um,-”

“Oh my God. You’re awake.” She jumped on me, wrapping her legs around my waist. Oh Dear God.

“Um. Violet what are you doing?”

“I am straddling my boyfriend, of course.”

“I’m your boyfriend?”

“Yeah. You don’t remember?” She jumped down upset.

“Not really.”

“Well. Maybe I can refresh your memory.” She pulled my neck down and slowly kissed me. I felt immensely awkward. This girl I don’t particularly remember is trying to make out with me while I am trying to figure out if I am in fact in love with her brother. I softly removed her from me.
