School was the same as always I have to admit. The same teachers, same subjects but harder, same conferences, and same students.
I sighed in defeat as I slammed my head against the table in defeat. "You win again, I can't do it" I mumble as I look up at Tanjiro who was smiling down at me. It was our lunch period and me and him had decided on playing a simple game of tic tac toe, which had proven to be hard against him.
"Its not that hard" he said simply as he pulled the piece of paper away so he could start eating. "You know Zenitsu, you've been acting strange since this morning."
He was right. The fact that Nezuko was around made my heart flutter to the point where speech was a problem. My clumsiness also seemed to go up to its max, so I guess I was going to be acting a bit out of it. "Heh, yeah, I guess school just kinda messed up my schedule this morning" I said with a small smile.
"You also haven't cried yet so that's weird," Inosuke added as he walked on over while stuffing his face while stuffing his face with some food he probably stole from someone else.
"Oh shut up! I don't cry ALL the time-" "Yeah, says the guy that cries every other hour" We started arguing. Tanjiro trying to get Inosuke off of me once again as we bickered.
"Wa wa wa, that's all I ever hear come out of your mouth!" Inosuke yelled as he got close to my face, as if trying to intimidate me. I let out a groan and pushed him away
"Oh shut up, we all know that the only reason you're loud is because you want to get that Aoi girl's attention..." I said as I backed off a bit
He got a bit red and pointed at me, "Y-yeah? And so what? At least I don't shut down at the sight of her! You think I haven't noticed? I saw you looking at Nezuko earlier!" he said with a smug look on his face.
My face grew red as my gaze landed on Tanjiro, who looked a bit thrown off but then continued with his usual self, "Alright guys knock it off! Let's just sit down and eat!"
We quickly sat down and ate, not wanting to get Tanjiro mad.
I was still red in the face and so was Inosuke. Some time later, Tanjiro left, leaving up alone.
"So Nezuko, huh?"
My face blew up, "Shut it... I don't wanna talk about it.."
"But you do like her right?" Inosuke asked, turning over to me as he took one of my rice balls from my tray.
"Yeah... but I don't wanna say anything, especially with Tanjiro. Plus, I just met her, so I don't wanna freak her out" I said calmly as I let out a small sigh.
I remember how I would always find a pretty girl and manage to cling to her. I wouldn't let go and I would cry like a baby for hours until Tanjiro had to come in again to rescue the poor girl.
He even had to bring Inosuke in this one time.
It was funny, I have to admit. Especially since the girl got terrified of Inosuke's yelling that we ended up clinging to each other in hope that we wouldn't die.
"Tanjiro would probably kill you if he found out-"
"Found out what?" I tended up at the bright voice behind us. We both turn around in fear and smile,
"T-that I was gonna go..." I started to trail off as Inosuke shouted,
"MARRY A GIRL! You know Zenitsu! How he clings to all those poor girls! Ha ha, you know him, stupid Zenitsu.." Inosuke said with a awkward smile as he wrapped his arm around my neck.
I know he can be a big jerk but man is he a good friend. I laugh and sigh,
"Damn... y-you caught me.." I say defeated as I sluggishly raise my hands.
Tanjiro got serious for a moment and sighed, "You have to stop doing that! Then you'll never gonna find a girl that has the courage to confess to you!" He lectured me. I simply nodded and agreed, saying sorry and agreeing to not cause any more problems with Inosuke.
"If only I could tell you.." I thought to myself, as a certain little flower caught my eye.
