Hey everyone! I know you are waiting for another P.O.V on Devon. I promise it is coming up very soon!

Sierra-

I enter the building clocking in at 8AM. I don't have to see my first patient until 10AM. It's okay because I have work that needs to be accomplished. I go over my paperwork and my notes. Today I am only going to introduce myself to my patients and ask them fun, but important questions as well as play a friendly game. It makes things more relaxing for them and helps me understand them better.

By the time 9:45AM roles around, I am ready to go. I call the pod to see where my first patient is at and the helpful office lady whos name is Jane said they are finishing up Breakfast. I politely say thank you and she ask me if I want a nurse to wheel the patient in. I politely declined because I want to meet the patient first hand.

First Patient:

Session Days: Friday and Saturday's @10AM

Patient: Sophia Goldberg

Age: 19

Illness: Childlike Psychopath, schizophrenia.

I enter Hall B where she resides. She is sitting at a table watching TV. She is watching animal planet and seems to be enjoying herself. I sit down in a chair next to her, quiet for a moment then I speak. Hi Sophia, I'm Dr. Daniels, I will be your new psychiatrist. She smiles. Oh yeah, I was told that I was getting a new doctor!

So what are you watching? Um, not sure but it seems interesting its about baby penguins. Yeah, baby penguins are adorable! So Doc. are we gonna go to your office? Do you want to go to the office or stay here? She replies with leaving and I don't blame her. I wheel her to my office and we begin.

Okay so let's just start with the basics. What do you like to be called? "Sophie." Okay Sophie, you can call me "Danny." But...Danny is a boy's name? It can also be a girls name. True. How are you feeling today? I am awesome! I got a new doctor, I got my recess privilege back, and I can eat with a fork again! Those are great accomplishments, you should be very proud.

I am! For the rest of the time I had with Sophie, I was able to get to know her and understand her better. I chose to have my patients play a challenging, but fun game to see how they react to challenges and troubles in general. Okay Sophie, I'm afraid our time is up! Awe, will I see you again? Of course! A matter of Fact, I will be seeing you again on Thursday! Yay!

Second Patient:

Session Days: Mondays and Wednesday

Patient: Victor Norse

Age: 35

Illness: OCD, tends to bite under stress, sociopath

The next patient was misbehaving before I could meet him. I had to meet him in the disciplinary Room. He was tied to a bed and I sat in the chair next to him. He had form of a dog nuzzle strapped on due to biting people. Hi Victor. I'm your new psychiatrist, Dr. Daniels. he is just looking around the room in panic.

I...I can't stop them, they are biting me! It's ok Victor, I'm here for you. I had to see my second patient again tomorrow because he is having a bad day!

Last Patient:

Session Days: Tuesday's and Friday's

Patient: Devon Tyler

Age: 24

Illness: Illusions of grandeur, Anger Issues, Smiling Disorder, MDD

The last patient was early. He wanted to enjoy nap time so a guard brought him in early. The guard knocked and I granted permission. The patient had a sappy attitude and slouched in his seat. The guard has to stay in the room for this patient. Hi Devon. He replies with a quick hi.

I'm Dr. Daniels, your new therapist. He smiled at me and I smiled back. I stopped myself...why did I do that? I see that with this patient, I need to take a more chill approach and not so formal. So what do you want to be called? I'm good with just Devon. He winks at me and I blush. Why am I blushing?

How are you feeling today? I'm alright, a bit tired. Yeah, I understand well I will let you get to your nap. I wanted to let you know I will be seeing you every Tuesday and Friday. He nods and I let him leave. It seems that I have to take things more slow with my male patients.
