The Robbery
"We're going to die." Your face was pale and blank, and you couldn't move.
Your lips felt numb just like the rest of your body, and the boy who was next to you could say,
"Maybe if you shut up, we can get out of here alive." Hoseok acted calm, cool and collected, while you were a shaking mess behind one of the shelves near the back of the store.
"Don't act like you're okay with this!" You snapped, shifting quietly to look up at the boy who was crouched as well.
"I know you're scared." You whispered.
"I'm trying to get out alive, unlike you." He hissed, sitting down with his bottom on the cold floor while his back was against one of the shelves.
You looked at him oddly, as his sharp gaze, which seemed to be looking up at something. Following his line is vision, you found that he was staring at a mirror on the ceiling.
Anyone could see it as soon as they entered the store and now it served as a helpful guide.
Because you could see the robber pointing a gun at a shaking older woman behind the cash register.
We made eye contact.
"Okay, when he's not looking we make a break for the back door."
"Can you run?" Hoseok turned to face you, eyes filled with curiosity.
"I did track for three years." You shrugged.
He deadpanned. "I didn't ask whether or not you did track, I asked if you could run."
"Yes." Your eyes rolled.
"Yeah, I kinda figured that after what you just said." he said rolling his eyes the same way you did earlier.
You could hear the woman pleading for him to just leave and he sounds of crying suddenly made their way to your ears.
You winced, wanting to block out the sounds all together. But you had already tried that before by placing your hands over your ears. It didn't work. "I really wish he'd just leave—"
Silence. The woman’s pleads had stopped, the sounds of her voice now long gone.
The sound of... well actually nothing.
Eventually, after having a few small mental breakdowns and Hoseok having to give you one too many pep talks, you both dashed for the back door of the store and had managed to run down the street far away.
When you were finally down the street, you had crouched down to catch your breath while Hoseok followed suit.
"I'm going to assume there were security cameras in the shop were on. So, they have the whole thing on tape." The dark-haired teen said, quite out of breath.
"But other than that, unless the police don't come to you, we don't talk about this to anyone." You nodded in agreement, although the more you thought about it, it didn't seem right.
"Wait—What?"
Hoseok stood to his full height and stared down at you.
"Someone could pin it against us, I mean we're teens out at night when we shouldn't be... Plus, I kind of have a record, but that's beside the point.
"Just go home."

Weeks rolled by soon enough, and you began to fall back into your normal routine. You couldn't help but remembered what had happened in the convenience store a few weeks ago, and you didn't tell the cops or your parents about it.
Hoseok had given you his number after smoothly telling you that it was best to keep in contact just in case.
What this his way of showing that he likes me? This was not the time for crushes. Snap out of it y/n...
But other than the last time you each other the day of the robbery, you hadn't seen him or spoken. Frankly, you didn't want too.
