Chapter 8

Adeline's point of view:

I could sense someone behind us, I don't know who it was but what I do know is that I can not stop running. Lynn keeps up a steady pace and I can feel her increase her pace little by little just to make sure we kept a good distance. But for some reason, we just can't manage to get away with the foreign presence. "Man whatever is behind us sure can run, the only person that has ever been able to almost catch up with us is your uncle and that's that he is an Alpha." Lynn continues to pick up her speed a little, I decided to turn my head to see if we can see anything behind us. I feel as though my breath hitches when I see a set of beautiful almost aquamarine eyes.

what the hell! "Lynn he is right behind us!" Lynn lets out an exasperated breath and increases her speed even more. All of a sudden I hear the wolf behind us make a sort of whine or almost quiet howl. Maybe he is trying to get out attention or maybe he wants us to stop for a second. "Adeline don't even think about it! we don't know what he wants okay. we really should just get to the car and get out of here." I guess she has a point, but there is something about him that I find intriguing. I know Lynn is going to kill me but I just have to see what he wants...I just can't help it.

before I change my mind I take control and push away Lynn's scolding comments. I begin to slow down little by little so that way it's not too surprising to the wolf behind me. Once I come to a complete stop I slowly turn around but the wolf isn't there anymore. where did he go? I pretty much do a full circle and I don't see him anymore. I make a whining noise hoping it would bring him out of hiding. Next thing you know I feel something soft graze against me. I turned and there he was. I can't help but just look at those mesmerizing eyes. He began to circle me looking up and down looking at all of me. I begin to walk closer to him and get close enough to where I can bring my nose close to his fur, is the scent is so wonderful I wish they had a candle that smelled like him. I wouldn't mind having that around me almost every day. He begins to push his nose on me and he begins to rub his head on my shoulder. It all feels so good.

Nathaniel's point of view:

As soon as the she-wolf began to slow down I didn't know what to do, so I ran behind some nearby bushes. "What are you doing you idiot! Go to her, don't be such a fuckin chicken shit!" Anton yells at me while also trying to take control. "Anton stops that okay I'll go just wait a minute." he finally stops and lets me actually take a good look at her. I can see her starting to circle around the open area. Is she looking for me? As she faces my direction I notice she had a red diamond shape piece of fur on her forehead. I then decide to walk behind her while also rubbing some of my fur against hers. She turns towards me and then gets closer taking her time going around me and taking small inhalations at the same time. I take that opportunity to nuzzle her neck. Her lavender scent was starting to get to me, I can smell just stay her inhaling her scent all day if I could. I lay down and pat my paw for her to do the same. She sits across from me turning her head side to side in a cute and curious way. I am completely captivated by her intense red stare seriously don't feel like I can look away.

I begin to move closer to her until our paws touch, and she doesn't seem to be frightened by me. Now that I can take the time to take her all in I'm just now noticing how big she is. We are about the same size which is a little surprising considering I am an alpha so my size just comes with the title. Is she an alpha too? I can sense a sort of power radiating off of her. I know she is not from my pack because I am unable to communicate with her through the mind link. Then where could she be from? I feel her getting closer to me, close enough so that we are side by side we lay there together just gazing up at the stars.

I can't help but feel content with her near me, I feel at peace and I feel free. There has to be a reason for these feelings, has the moon goddess finally blessed me with my soulmate, with the one person that I can spend the rest of my life with.
