Chapter 9

          As I make my way to school I can't help but think about last night. I can't help but think about that girl that I ran into in the woods. I'm wondering if she is going to be there today as well, I have noticed that my wolf has been a little restless since the wolf and I parted last night. But what could I do, I couldn't just follow her around. If she is my mate, I don't want to ruin it right away. I can't help but get excited about the fact that I have my life long mate with me in just a short amount of time. But I don't think it's a good idea to get my hopes up this much. I mean I used to research this stuff like crazy when I was a kid, I was always so excited to meet my one and only as my mother and father did. But we shall see this goes.

          I park my car and head towards my first class, my thoughts can't help but go back and think about the student from yesterday, the way she just totally disregarded my authority and left without saying another word still makes me burn with anger. I make it to class with a couple of minutes to spare and I quickly unlock the doors and allow the shivering students pile into the classroom. I make my way to my desk and begin to set up for the lecture.

"Good morning class!"

"Good morning" they all reply, I look at all the students trying to find the same girl that dared to challenge me just not too long ago.

"I hope you all went through the assigned reading and made reflections of what you discovered." I could see some students look around a little panicked. It doesn't surprise me that there are a few that most likely forgot that they even had homework, to begin with. It's times like these where I really can't wait to go back home so I don't have to deal with all of the tedious tasks that come being an instructor. All of the disrespect just makes all of this not work it anymore. I remember when I first game here a few years ago I had so much drive and excitement towards teaching. I think most of it came from the fact that my parents actually agreed to let me come here on my own in attempts of finding my mate. But I am running out of time and my pack really needs me. This will be my last semester here so I pray that the moon goddess blesses me with someone to call my own before time runs out.

"All right class shall we begin, so today we are going into the introductions of European history. As some of you might already know if you did your readings of course. The Greeks proved to be as gifted people as mankind has ever produced, achieving supreme heights in thought and letters. They absorbed the knowledge of the, to them, mysterious East...They added immediately to everything they teamed. It was the Greeks of the fourth and fifth centuries BC who first became fully conscious of the powers of the human mind, who formulated what the Western world long meant by the beautiful, and who first speculated on political freedom now-"

          I seriously can't believe that I am going to be late again! Not I'm seriously not going to hear the end of it this time. But I mean it's not like I am doing this on purpose, the last thing I want is to be put on the spot again. I think I'm better off going in through the back entrance. I walk as fast as my short legs can take me and I make my way around the building, it's a good thing there are elevators here too, I really wasn't looking for any exercise this morning. As the elevator pings its way up my palms begin to sweat a little, please, please, please! Let me get in there quietly! I finally make my way down the hall and I open the door as slowly as I can. These are the times where I wish I were a little twig then I wouldn't have to open the door so damn much! I crouch down and squeeze in, the good thing is that the classroom is based on auditorium seating so I was easily able to get into the before the professor could turn back towards the class. To avoid making too much noise I decided it would be wiser to just record professor Evans's lecture instead of having to take out my laptop and set it all up.

          As the lecture continued I couldn't help but notice the guy sitting a couple of seats away kept looking at me. What the hell does he want, I turn to look at him and when we made eye contact he smiled and then winked at me. Not going to lie he was a little cute but I mean he's not really my type. "You mean he looks nothing like the professor?" I swear sometimes I wish that my wolf could somehow manifest in front of me so that I can punch her a couple of times. "Touche" I roll my eyes, I can still feel the guy's eyes on me and it's really starting to make me feel a little on edge. What the heck is this dudes problem like damn take a fridgen picture it will last a hell of a lot longer!

          I turn toward the guy again and I mouthed 'what' he smiles and he gets up and scoots over so he is right next to me. Okay, seriously this guy needs a lesson on how not to invade people's bubbles.

"Hey there, what's your name?" he asks with a little bit of a smirk on his face.

"Adeline, what's yours?" he smiles back and gets a little closer to me.

 "The names Josh pretty lady." is this guy for reals, he casually puts his arm around my shoulders bringing me impossibly close to him. "Listen, sweetcheeks, my brothers and I are having a party at our frat house today, you should stop by... and maybe bring some of your cute friends with you." he digs into his pocket at hands me a folded paper, I opened it and it's a flyer that has the address and time of the party. I glance up at him and he still has a smirk on his face. You know what why not fuck it! I haven't gone to a party in a while and you know whatever since that little run-in with the professor at the coffee shop I have been feeling a little horny.

 "Sure why not, I'll see what I can do." the look of satisfaction came across his face and then he leaned in close to my ear.

 "If you do happen to show up then maybe I can show you a good time gorgeous" my face heats up, I don't know if I was just hearing things but I could have sworn I heard someone growl. I look up and I see the professor eyeing me and Josh while at the same time continuing his lecture. Did the growl come from him? No, that's impossible, I think I would have known if he was a werewolf too.

  "Well, I guess I will have to hold you accountable for that offer," I say to Josh in the most seductive way could. Man, I really don't know what the hell is going on with me! I turn to look at Josh and he has a sly grin on his face. He gets back up and he moves to the seat he was in at the beginning of class. I grab my phone and look at the time. Great, class is almost over, I grab my bag and I am just waiting for the professor to dismiss us. You know what on second thought I think I am going to sneak out a little early, might as well right. I scoot my butt off the seat and crouch down, I make my way to the door I came in through when I got here and slipped out real quick. Maybe I should probably take the stairs down again, that way I don't run into any unwanted company.

          As soon as I dismissed class I stayed at my desk looking at all students as they all piled out of the classroom. Truthfully I only to catch Adeline before she got out. My eyes continue to roam all of the blank faces and I have yet to see her. Where the fuck is she, I can feel myself getting a little antsy and as I see the last student walkout it hit me that the sneaky little minx must have escaped through one of the other doors. I don't know why just here mere presence just makes me want to lock us in a room together never leave. I want to taste her again, I want to feel her lips against mine. I want her skin against mine just once more. "You need to keep an eye on her, did you not see her talking to that boy earlier. They seemed a little close for comfort." I mean he does have a point, just seeing them that close literally made the hairs in the back of my neck rise. "You did hear what they were talking about right, she is going to a party tonight and I don't think that Josh guy has the best intentions."

         I can't believe I almost forgot about that, just the sight of her and that idiot being is such close proximity really struck a nerve. What should I do, should I crash the party, or should I try to get the party canceled. No, I can't sabotage the party, I ain't no snitch. I guess the only thing I can do is just go to the actual party. I pack my stuff quickly and start heading to my car, at least today is my short day so I have plenty of time to find out what I am going to wear and where the party is.
