The Lone Wolf

Chapter 4

-HER-

It's a little after 8 in the evening, that Adam and his mate came by.

Everyone was waiting for them in the living room and each  rose up from their seat, when they realize the new couple made themselves present.

All faces are beaming with excitement of the new family. The eyes watching sheen with unshed tears, overwhelmed by the feelings for Adam and his mate.

We are so prepared for new members of the family. And soon, Anna's mate too.

"Everyone, my mate, Marina. Marina, my family."

Mom is the first to make a move, by shrieking in happiness while small running to Adam. She hugs him fast and goes straight to Marina.

Mom's hands on Marina's shoulders, she says, "Oh, she's so beautiful, Adam. Welcome to the family."

Marina was shocked at first by mom's boldness but smiles nonetheless, to the fact that mom likes her. She hugs her back and say thank you.

Grandpa and Dad goes to shake hands with Marina. Grandma has the same reaction as mom because she too can't hide her excitement. Lastly, me and Anna goes to hug Adam and Marina before whispering 'Welcome to the family.'

The dinner is so loud and somewhat merrier whith Marina today. Everyone asks questions about Marina's family. What's her job. Where'd she studied before. How many sibling she had. Well, and many more.

Amara listened to everyone talking. She knows everyone is berserk with Marina's presence and chuckles a little.

Marina is from Blue Moon's Pack. Her family is an ordinary pack members but her father also used to be a pack's warrior. Just like dad. She had only two siblings, her brother, Miles, is also a pack's warrior. She said she love fighting but to fight for living, it just doesn't sit well with her. So she decided to be a teacher at the pack's school.

I'm the only one doing the hearing and laughing. There's one question that floated in my mind. After picking up enough courage, she asked, "How do you feel when you met my brother?"

Everyone goes silent by my question. My family knows that I haven't met my mate yet and they think I'm too young to think about mate.

Come on, I'm already 22 year old grown independent woman. I need everything there is to know about mate.

I need the juice!

I look down on my plate and continue eating. Aware of the scrutinizing gazes. A minute later, "It was magical." Marina replied.

I look up and stare at her. Smiling.

"To be honest, I was like in trance when I see him. No words can ever come close to what I'm feeling." She smiles and turns to Adam.

The way she describes it, make me hope to meet my mate too. I want to feel that way with someone. To have someone fated to you by your side. To never get bored with him.

After dropping the bomb, the dinner goes on as usual with asking and answering questions.

Not until, Anna decided to dropped the bomb for the second time.

It's not bomb really, it's good news.

She clinks the tall glass and all attentions are on her. She laugh nervously before saying "I've also found my mate. He's the beta of this pack."

Oh my gosh. It's totally the bomb. A fucking grenade.

It's Beta Ash. Amara know he just got back from a mission worth five years ago when Anna had just turn 18. It all makes sense. Why she haven't found her mate until he was back.

Fucking hell. That means Anna is the Beta Female of this pack.

Oh my gosh. I'm freaking out. Why didn't Anna told me before. Why did she have to go and left me all freaked out like the rest of the family.

"I know that he's my mate, yesterday, when I was on the run and he's been running the perimeter at the border."

The whole family is a living chaos once again because of Anna's news. Who wouldn't anyway. Both the son and the daughter found their mate.

Mom and grandma are a weeping mess by now. Too proud to say anything. Amara would be laughing by now if she's
not too stunned by the news.

'I'm sorry'. Anna mouthed.

She fucking dare.

Amara can only send a death glare but smile in the end.

I can't stay mad at her, okay? I'm happy for her.

It a little past 10, Adam and Marina decided to go back home. That means, as well as everyone else. We bid goodbyes and hugs before they left.

After closing the door, Amara and her parents sat on the couch, letting out a loud exhale.

"Wow, what a dinner tonight."

"I know, right."

"First, Marina, and then Beta Ace."

"I can't even fathom how this all works in one night."

We sat in silence for a few minutes before going up to bed. At the sight of her bed, Amara's body instantly felt so exhausted, her feet felt so heavy to even make an effort to change. But she needed to change, this dress wouldn't be too comfortable to sleep.

She force her legs to her bathroom and wipe off her makeup. Then, she take off her dress and jump off for a quick shower before going to bed.

Amara is a bit on the hygiene kind, she can't sleep if she didn't shower. After, she put on a loose short and light pink tank top and she's ready to sleep.

She turns off the light and pulled the cover on top of her. Laying in bed, she tried too lull herself to sleep but her eyes and minds are forcing her to be awake.

'Just after I'm about ready to sleep, and you wanted to be awake'. She thought.

Letting herself drown by her thoughts, she finds her minds goes back to Marina's words during dinner.

It was magical. To be honest, I was like in trance when I see him. No words can ever come close to what I'm feeling.

Amara would be lying if she said that she didn't want a mate. Before, maybe. But now? When her brother and sister had found their mate, their soulmate, she wanted to feel what it feels like when you had them.

If feels... a little lonely. Now at the age of 22, never having even a boyfriend, and to top it all, a virgin. Well, she saved it for her mate, to be honest.

She wanted her mate too. She wanted that instant love. She want that sparks you feel whenever you're together. She wanted to know that they're someone out there destined to love you forever.

Without a doubt.

With that thought, she fall asleep.
