"Alex, your white as a sheet what's—"
I interrupt him, "We need to leave. Now!" I could feel my heart thundering in my chest as my breathing became faster and more ragged.
"Wha—"
"Now!!" I yell urgently.
My fists are clenched so hard I could feel my nails bite into my skin.
He nods, "Okay, okay just calm down." Then he runs over to Michael and Henry who are speaking a little ways away. I see him talking to them, gesturing urgently with his hands. I see them look towards the truck, then all three hurry towards me. As they approach I try to calm my thundering heart.
It wasn't working.
I look down at my shaking hands and carefully unclench them, taking a deep breath.
Henry walks over to me and places a hand on my shoulder, "Hey what's wrong, what's goin' on?" He seems worried.
"Yeah, you look like you've seen a ghost," Michael says, smirking.
"We need to leave, now!"
They must've heard the desperation in my voice. Henry climbs into the drivers seat and Michael, looking uneasy, into the back with me. Tyler, already in shotgun glances back at me through the mirror as Henry pulls out of the parking lot and back on the highway.
Now Michael turns to me, "What's wrong, what happened?"
I don't answer. I just wrap my arms around myself and stare down at my bandaged foot. All I could think about was the demon, it had found me... or maybe they had found me. It's more than one, I know it. I shiver violently, another chill running through my body.
A hand touches my arm and I jump, startled. It's Michael.
"Hey, woah. Are you okay? You're really worrying me." He speaks softly, concern creasing his face. I blink then without warning hot tears start running down my cheeks. I cover my face with my hands as my shoulders begin to shake, sobs bursting from within my chest.
"I'm s-sorry, it's-it's all my fault," I sob, body shaking.
I feel Michael move closer to me, to offer comfort most likely.
"No!" I pull away and yank my hood over my head, ripping it. I stare at the torn hood lying docile in my hands, "What the hell is happening to me!?"
He flicks my ear.
"Hey! What was that for!?"
"I swear to god, you better tell us what's been going on with you."
"Or what!?" I challenge.
He blinks, he must not have considered that.
"Keep it up and you'll find out." He replies.
Without a second thought I say, "Yeah right."
He turns red, "W-What?"
"Exactly what I said."
"...you are insufferable."
"And you are impossible!!"
"Well you're—!"
"Enough!! Michael quiet! And Alex, you're telling us what's going on whether you like it or not. But not in the car, we're going to somewhere safe, there you can tell us." Henry says, he sounds frustrated.
I slump down in my seat and stare moodily out the window. Beside me I can hear Michael muttering to himself, though I don't know what he says.
Eventually, I fall into a fitful sleep.
