Finally, the trial continues. Ted Trottier summons his first witness.

"I would like to call Dr. Thomas Ph.D."

Do you swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God?

"I do," Thomas affirms.

"State your profession for the court." Trottier insists.

"I am a psychologist," Thomas responded.

"When you assessed Mrs. Adams, was she in a proper frame of mind?"

Trottier continued.

"She was mentally distraught, but due to her circumstances, any human

being would be." Thomas sympathized.

"What were those circumstances?" Trottier was playing dirty again.

Yonsen hollered! "Her past experiences should not regurgitate. We are

dealing with whether Janie was 'raped' and who is responsible. We are  fighting for the rights of 'half persons': no matter how limited."

"It might help the tribunal fully understand her situation..."

"You're such a lying bastard!" Yonsen wanted to crack his nose.
However, he contained himself.

"Order, order, I say! Yonsen that is strike two with such language. One

more time and I will hold you in contempt. As for you, Mr. Trottier,
Yonsen is correct; these details do not need to be divulged." Judge  Harman was a righteous man, indeed.

"From what I know of her, Janie is a wonderful woman for all she has
been through. I do not blame her for not being here today. The mental
angst of testifying can cause anyone to snap."

"No further questions, your honour," Trottier stated.

"Do you wish to cross-examine?" Harman spoke.

"Yes. Your honour." Yonsen proclaimed.

"Proceed," Judge Harman ordered.

"Are you classified as a full person under the law?"

"I am." It was a lofty position, and he was proud of it.

"Do you think Janie is a terrorist? Alternatively, has any capability of  being a terrorist?" Yonsen pounded.

"To be honest... No. She shows none of the tendencies of a psychopath..."

"Then tell me why she should not have the rights as a full person under
the law?" Yonsen pursued the answer with intense sharpness.

"To be frank...In this country, the constitution is a god..." Thomas pointed to the idolatry of the human heart.

"No further questions your honour... I want permission to call David Adams to the stand." Yonsen requested.

"Here we go again..." Trottier mocked.

"I will allow it." Judge Harman deliberated.

"Do you swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth
so help you God?"

"I do," David promised.

"David, were you in the same mental facility as Janie?" Yonsen
inquired.

"Yes." He replied politely.
