You would think being part of the British Royal family would be amazing,right? Well I'm here to tell you: as second in line to the throne, it's not. Unless you like being forced to dress in formal clothes every day of your life and never having the freedom to do what you want. I sometimes wish Grandma would've abdicated the throne before I was born because then I would still be a member of the Royal family but I wouldn't be forced through all this. I could live a normal life like my cousins and have a career of my own but instead I'm stuck training for a job I don't want. I would be able to go hang out with my friends and I wouldn't have to go to "Princess training" with Grandma. I love Grandma , I really do , but I hate being royal. Or even if I had siblings it'd be ok because I could abdicate the throne to them but since I'm an only child I have no choice but to accept my role. And right now I already have a lot of stress on me but I know after Grandma dies it'll only get worse because then I'll be first in line and have to take on a lot more roles. I'll be subjected to a lot more pressure than I am now. And I'll also have to find an acceptable partner that is approved by either Grandma or Father- whoever is ruling by then. You'd think as a royal you'd be able to do whatever you'd want , right? Oh no , everything and I mean everything you do has to be approved. What you wear, where you go , who you are around and who you marry are all dictated by the current monarch , which in this case is Grandma. I am 17 years old and my grandmother dictates pretty much everything. Like for instance, the school I attend doesn't require us to wear uniforms but Grandma requires me to wear a suit everyday to school. I'm required to wear a skirt that is below my knees , a button up blouse with a a button up jacket that matches the skirt. I have to wear my hair down and straight with a head band that matches the outfit. I have to wear black or nude colored stockings with a pair of black button up shoes. On Fridays after school I go to Grandmas until Sunday for Princess Training. If she is traveling I go with her. During Christmas break I will go with her to Frogmore Cottage and stay with her until January 11th. The entire family will come the week of Christmas and leave New Years day but we will go down there December 11th. So an entire month I get to stay with Grandma. It's currently Fall Break which means I have about 3 weeks until I go down there. I get to miss part of school and don't have to make it up, which I guess is a perk to being Royal.
