By the time Varian reached Corona, it was nightfall. The night was beautiful, it was a full moon and the sky was as clear as a crystal. Varian couldn't bring his spirits to be lifted by the sight however, because only one thing was on his mind. Rapunzel thought he was dead. How could he just show up again, after seeing his gravestone? He lingered outside of the main gate, millions of anxieties swirling through his mind. On one hand, he wanted to tell Rapunzel he was alright, on the other hand, he was afraid. Afraid of what everyone might think if he shows his face. Would Rapunzel really be happy that he's alive? In his mind, all he was, was a burden. A perpetual darkness, that should've never been born. Maybe he was better off dead, or at least thought to be. Perhaps he was better off as a vagabond, instead of risking the destruction that he was prophesied to create. He had to stay away from the ones he loved. He realized that King Ernst II was right in banishing him. He was a danger to society. He could feel his hair and eyes starting to glow and his power started coursing through him with the ferocity of his emotions. He turned and ran, clutching Rudiger in his arms. Where he stood, three black rocks grew, with the symbol of a half moon in front of them where his feet had been.

Varian ran deep into the woods. He wanted to stay as far away from his friends as possible. An icy wind whipped around him. He stopped and glanced frantically around. He had found more powers, he controlled ice and the cold. Ice spread across the ground and froze the trees around him. Black rocks also sprouted, encompassing him in a circle of rocks. He dropped to his knees and Rudiger jumped away, sliding on the ice. Varian felt a strong surge of power, and a new outfit materialized on him with a flash of blue light. He had an icy blue cloak with a hood, as well as a blue shirt and pants, laced with black spikes symbolizing the rocks. A silver ringlet rested on his head, a moon symbol on the front. His power heightened, and the rocks grew from the ground all around him, creating a wall of rocks. This is where he would stay forevermore, so he couldn't fulfill his destiny of destruction. He now finally could calm, knowing he would forever be locked away.
