Angie looked at the pair in anger. Kyla was wrapping bandages around the palms of aces hand as he watched her a smile on his face.
Angie walked to the main office of the ward and went to talk to Doctor Ashman.

"Doctor I know you're busy but I'd like to file a complaint about-"
"About Kyla Johnson? I don't see the problem as to why you would." The doctor said to Angie.
"You wouldn't understand."

"I wouldn't understand? Why because I'm fifty years old. Oh yes, way past my prime to understand the problems of love."
"So can't you get rid of her?"
"I'm afraid I can't. Ace is getting better."
"What do you mean better?"
"Better as in healthy. He's eating more and talking more. Smiling more. Doing everything more. All because of that young lady." Ashman emphasised on the 'Young' too which Angie rolled her eyes.

"I'm not old."
"Right. However, you are old enough to be his mother."
"I'm 26!"
"Teen Mom." Ashman shrugged and continued to sign the release papers for Ace.

"You're allowing him to leave so soon."
"The boys been here long enough. Three years is hardly soon. Especially if he spent the three years stuck with you." Ashman muttered the final sentence.
"You can't!"
"The child is 17. Last time I checked that is illegal."
"What are you implying?!"
"Didn't we just have a conversation about this? Aren't I Supposed to be the one who is 50?"
"Whatever Doctor Ashman I demand you dismiss his release."
"Woman. You are acting as if this is a courtroom. And we are at a trial for a murder case."
"Well, you did make them dress in orange jumpsuits."
"Thought it looked classy ya know. Anyway, I am leaving this room and conversation goodbye, Mrs Smith."
"It's miss Daniels thank you very much."

Doctor Ashman rolled his eyes before leaving Angie.
Angie stared at her wedding ring.
"Maybe it's for the best." She thought. She's lived her life to the fullest now it was Aces turn.
She then also left the messy office and went towards Aces room.
Kyla had left a while ago leaving Ace alone staring at the ceiling.

The star projector that Kyla had left for him. He gazed in adoration of every single spec of light.
But nothing could compare to Kyla's eyes. She had magic in her even the stars had envied.
It reminded of the first time he had seen the stars.
Kyla pointed out all the different constellations with help from the projector. She laid on the floor and so did Ace. She stared at the ceiling but Ace did not. There was a sky full of stars and he was staring at her.

Ace smiled at the memory and looked at the neatly wrapped bandage. Kyla had put a smiley face sticker on his bandage to make him feel better. It didn't make him feel better but she insisted, so he let her.

The smile on her face, when he allowed her to, made Ace feel better.
He remembered after she had wrapped the wound that she had to finish her assignment. To which he happily complied.

"Ace. I'm really sorry but I have to finish my assignment or else I won't pass."
"That's okay, Kyla."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. I don't want you to fail because of me." She merely nodded and muttered thanks before opening her bag, pulling out various different files and book.
"I looked through your history. I didn't want too. But it was the only way."
"That's okay. I gave up privacy the minute I entered this place." He spat in anger. The anger caused Kyla to stare in fright.
He cleared his throat and told her to proceed.
"It's about your past. Not about you're case. Not that it makes it any better." She laughed nervously, trying to push down the wavering panic.
Ace seemed to notice as he wrapped his hands around hers. He looked into her eyes, fear evident.
"It's okay Kyla. Don't worry." She nodded and opened the files.
She gulped before saying the questions
"As a child what did you enjoy most?"
"Dancing in the rain with my mother. Running in the grass during the summertime." Kyla scribbled all the words Ace had said.
The questions were generic and easy for Ace to answer. But the last two were hard.
"What would you say to your father?"
"You didn't hurt me. You killed me."
"What did you lose Ace?" Kyla asked putting her pen down.
"Everything." A tear rolled down Aces face.

"You hide so much behind that smile Ace."
"After all, I am just a pretty face with a dark soul."
