autumn was lucky her mum was at work, otherwise she would've been in for a huge lecture. mason sat down on the edge of her bed and started to feel faint.
"can i lay down?" he asked her.
she nodded straight away, only wanting to help this boy. she went to pull her covers over so he could get himself in. once he was in the bed, he pulled the covers over his shoulders and his eyes started to close slowly. autumn smiled a little.
"it's raining, maybe we can do something when you wake up?" she whispered to him.
he nodded with a tiny smile.
autumn left him in her room to sleep. just as she walked downstairs, she saw her mother standing there waiting.
"who is that in my house?" she accused. which is all she seemed to ever do.
"mum, aren't you supposed to be at work?" autumn asked.
"lunch break. i'll ask once more, who is in your bedroom?" sheryl asked, more persistantly.
autumn let out a sigh and walked to the couch to sit down.
"his names mason..." she started to explain.
-
by the time she had explained everything to sheryl, mason was walking down the stairs. his eyes were puffy and red.
"mase, you alright?" autumn asked with concern.
he nodded. she could tell he'd been crying. sheryl entered the living area from the kitchen and offered him a drink. he shook his head no.
"i might just go out for a bit," he said.
autumn shot him an uneasy look, "alone..?"
he nodded. autumn shook her head and stood up collecting her coat.
"i'll come." she smiled.
as they were leaving she looked back at her mum and smiled as a gesture to say thankyou for letting her leave.
autumn wanted to show mason she was a good friend, so she picked out a few ideas from her head. it was still light, perfect.
