I awoke at 6 am the next morning. I usually woke up at 7, but I was anxious to get out of the house before dad woke up, plus I would get to school earlier. I put on some blue jeans with a few ketchup stains and a striped shirt that didn't fit me right. I grabbed my small bag and headed out, remembering I had to meet Logan in front of the school. As I neared the school I felt nervous. I never felt nervous about a guy before. It felt....strange. As I walked up to the front of the school I saw Logan pacing back and forth. Was he nervous too? I walked up behind him startling him a bit as he jumped and looked at me. I had forgot to put on makeup so he saw the mark on my face, but I didn't mind. He looked me in the eyes and smiled. He looked happy. I smiled back breaking the silence. "Hey Logan..." He was fumbling with his hands, he must have been nervous. "Hey." He said quietly. "You wanted to talk to me?" I questioned remembering what he told me last night. "Yeah.." He looked around making sure nobody was around. I was confused on why. He lifted his shirt and I saw it. He had a huge bruise all down his side. "Oh my god!" I exclaimed, "What happened?" He had a sad look on his face, it made me cringe. "It's my dad." He hesitated, "Ever since my mom died he hasn't been....the same." I knew after that I had to tell him the truth. I lifted my shirt on the side and showed him the bruises on my back from the belt hitting me hard. He was in awe. I hugged him tightly crying into his shoulder. He was warm, and amazing. I never felt that way about anyone before, and I never really acknowledged that guys could like me. Logan and I sat out front talking about our home life until the bell rang, and we walked to class holding hands. I knew I hadn't covered my bruises, but at the moment I didn't care. I sat by him in the back today, everyone was staring at me but I didn't mind. I saw Stacy walk in and glare at me, walking straight towards me. "Oh no." I thought in my head. "Why are you in my seat again?" She asked me eyeing me in disgust. "I-uh.." I just stared at her. "Stacy, leave her alone." Out of the corner of my eye I saw Logan stand up. "What do you mean leave her alone!" She yelled, "Your MY boyfriend!" By then everyone in class was staring at us. "I'm not YOUR boyfriend." He glared at her, "I'm Taylor's!" She looked at me and then back at him. "Did you just break up with me for her?" She questioned, surprised at what he just said. "That what I just said isn't it?" He smiled at me. Now everybody knew me and him were a couple, and that felt great. She looked at me one last time and walked away sashaying like she just won a freaking beauty pageant. All I could do was smile. After she sat down by the boys so she could flirt we started class, which was really boring. I soon started drifting off. "Taylor? TAYLOR!" I jumped up looking around. My teacher was standing in front of me. "Would you like to tell us what you were dreaming about?" He glared at me. Before I could answer he put a detention paper on my desk and walked away. Dads gonna kill me! When the bell finally rang I walked out with Logan. Me and him didn't have class together so we quickly kissed and I walked away. He kissed me in front of everyone. He acknowledges that were a real couple. And that's all I needed. I walked to second hour where Macy was waiting for me. She looked at me, realizing I didn't have makeup on, but ignored it. "So, I heard you and Logan are officially a couple?" She smirked at me. "Yea, I guess we are." I smiled liking the sound of us being a couple. "Plus, you shut that bitch Stacy down." She laughed and I laughed too. We walked into class. I hope today's a good day. After going to the rest of my classes I went to detention. I called mom first telling her where I would be so she knew. When I walked in I saw Logan sitting in the back and I sat next to him. After sitting in the boring detention room for an hour I walked home with Logan. Before he dropped me off he quickly kissed me and went on his way. The butterflies in my stomach fluttered like crazy. I just knew soon they would die, because my dad knew I had detention. I walked in the house and saw dad sitting on the couch once again with his belt and beer. He grabbed me by the hair and hit me hard across the side. He didn't punch me or anything, which means he was in a better mood than usual. I ate some food and went up to my room. Falling asleep early, anxious for tomorrow.
