Rebecca groaned at the sound of her alarm clock. She lived for the sound of the damn thing each morning but she also hated it. Reaching for the alarm on the night stand, she switched it off.
Looking at the time on the clock, it was six thirty. It was still too early but she needed to get out of bed.

For the past week, she had been working on the huge project for the new investor with her team. Yesterday night, Rebecca had stayed up really late going through the whole presentation and files to make sure there were no errors.

In her line of work, there were no mistakes. Mistakes meant you weren't perfect and she worked to perfection. Everyone of her colleagues could say that about her. She was sure in a few months, Mr. Tucker would promote her the company's Vice president. The thought of it brought a smile to her face.

Finally all her hard work had really paid off. This presentation was the only thing she needed to nail to earn a few more points. If everything went right, there is no way the new investor wouldn't sign a contract with them.

Slipping out of the covers, Rebecca headed for the bathroom. All she needed was to freshen up. A warm shower would do the trick. Wasting no time, she brushed her teeth and headed inside the shower setting for the right temperature.

When she was done with everything, she moved to her closet to choose her outfit of the day. Contented with the navy trousers, white button up and the matching navy blue blazer, she was good to go.

Minutes of makeup and combing her hair, Rebecca was ready to get dressed. Coupling her outfit with the red stilettos, she picked up her channel bag and headed downstairs.

Kate, her mom was already preparing the table for breakfast.
"Mom." Rebecca pecked her cheek.
"How is my beautiful daughter doing this morning?" Kate smiled pulling out her chair.
"Good."

"You came back home late last night. I am worried about your sleeping schedule." Kate poured her a glass of juice.
"I was going over some files at office. Plus I told you not to wait up for me." She sips on her coffee savoring the sweet taste of her mother's homemade coffee. No coffee beat the one her mother prepared. She had a great amount of coffee to prove that.

"I know but I still worry. It has been like that these past weeks." Kate argued.
"I told you about the presentation mom. This opportunity is a one time thing. Getting this client means a lot to me." she explained.

"And I have no problem with that. I want to see you succeed too. We haven't hang out lately and I miss it." Kate cooed sitting down.
"Mom." Rebecca smiled lovingly.
"I promise we are going to hang out when I finish this meeting." she promised.

"Are we going to finally going to go to the women's center I told you about? I have made a lot of friends there. You are going to love it." Kate says excitedly. Rebecca sighs. She loves her mom so much but that women's center was the last place she wanted to go.

"No." Rebecca muttered.
"What do you mean no? Darling, I have told these people so much about you and they can't wait to meet you." Kate coaxed.
"I will have to pass on that one." she ate her pancake.
