I hate you, I love you Olivia O'Brien seems the most fitting song I also like the version
Travis Phelps x female!Reader
TW: homophobic language; religious talk
Sorry I have a plot in mind for this and reader needs to be female. He was an asshole. Everyone knew that. Yet, she hung around him and clung to him like a wet towel.
At first, no one understood why and rejected the idea. Including Travis. She was far too pretty and belonged in a different league than him. After a month or two, everyone grew used to her odd choice in a friend.
Travis' behaviour was strange with her. Compared to everyone else he was hard, cruel, a bully to say the least. To her he became somewhat kind, genuine, happy around her. That was, until a new boy came around.
All of Travis' attention was redirected to him. She felt somewhat jealous. Hell, she was jealous. She had liked Travis long ago and the feelings never faded.
Travis always spoke of him and his friends and how much they got under the blonde's skin.
"As I was saying," Travis stated with a bologna sandwich in his hands. "They're fucking disgusting; spreading their homosexuality everywhere. How do they expect me not to correct them. To tell them they are choosing the path to hell instead of the one true way."
She was eating her own lunch she had brought from home since bologna was disgusting in her opinion, especially the school's.
"So, would you stop bullying poor Sal and his friends. I get it, you're very protective of your religion, but you know, you can't force it upon anyone." You took a sip of your (soda/choice).
Travis' face twisted with disgust. "So you're defending those heathens."
"No," you sighed at this constant argument. "All I'm saying is, they can possibly not share the same views as you. Not everyone does."
"And everyone is wrong who doesn't." He glared at the group of Sal and his friends.
"Travis," you caught his attention. "Stop staring and eat your food." He rolled his eyes and did as told.
Once the two finished their individual meals, the bell had rung, telling the students it was time for class.
The pair threw away their trash and walked with Travis to her locker. Sal and his friends were standing at their lockers, which was near her's. They were bound to cross paths with Travis at some point in the day.
She saw the look on Travis' face as he became enraged. He began to slow his pace. "Look at those faggots."
"Travis!" She was shocked by his language every time he said something like that.
The group looked over at the two.
'Uh, oh.' Ashley mouthed, her eyes darting to Sal. Sal was always the target of Travis' aggression; singled out among the four.
"Travis," she hissed at him. "Do anything and I won't eat lunch with you for a month."
He rolled his eyes but complied with her. She walked to her locker with Thomas in tow. She spun the lock and quickly opened the metal container.
