Troy made it to the crest of the hill, giving him a perfect vantage point of the beach. He gasped at what he saw. About fifteen of the soldiers were left, and at least double that amount of Xenomorphs. The Xenomorphs were all wielding human weapons and there was a Pelican crashed in the middle of the war zone.

“Ironic,” Troy murmured.

“Are you referring to the fact they abandoned you in order not to fight, and they are the ones who encountered enemies? If so, you have used this term correctly.” Troy gulped and readied his Light Rifle. “What are you doing Reclaimer? We have work to do!”

“I’ve got to save my wife.” Patient Blessing sighed dramatically, even though he was a robot and didn’t actually breathe air.

“I suppose I can wait. Hurry up.” Troy sprinted down the hill. He fired a few shots into the nearest Xenomorph and looked around. He couldn’t see his wife anywhere.

“Calsu?” he called, gunning down another Xenomorph. “Calsu?” He saw an ODST get dragged away by a Praetorian, screaming the whole way. Of course, people were being taken as hosts. “Calsu!” He snatched up a Suppressor off the ground and wielded it alongside his Light Rifle. Ashes spiralled around him as he destroyed anything in his path. Having Troy’s rage on their side proved to be a big advantage for the marines, and soon there were only two Aliens left. Troy grabbed Adam by the shoulders. “Where is she?” Adam shook his head sadly.

“Th-the Xenomorphs... C-Calsu... P-prisoners...” Adam couldn’t say it straight with Troy looking at him like that. Troy gave him a violent shake.

“Where is she?!” Adam sobbed. He thought Troy was going to kill him. He had gone insane.

“I-I-I d-don’t know! The Xenomorphs took her away!” Troy threw him away roughly.

“My my, this isn’t going to affect our work, is it?” Patient Blessing inquired. Troy pointed an accusing finger at him.

“Take me to her now!”

“No need, she is safe. However Reclaimer, this will only be true so long as you comply. I need someone capable by my side when procedures are put into action.” Troy snarled at him, pure animalistic rage taking him over.

“Fine,” he snapped. “What do you want me to do?” Patient Blessing pondered this for a moment.

“I will require you to help me activate this world’s defences. You will need to come with me to the control room, I will explain further when we get there.” Troy stepped closer and spread his arms out wide.

“Then beam me up Scotty.”

“Wait Sarge, you can’t go alone.” Troy turned around. All of the remaining marines were standing there, guns loaded and ready, many covered in blood. Some theirs, some not.

“Splendid! The more the merrier!” Patient Blessing chirped. Troy felt his molecules get ripped apart once again.

Troy re-materialised inside a control room that looked much like the one used to activate the halo. There was a large hologram of the planet in the middle of the room with detailed schematics of every section. Troy had always been fascinated by these kinds of shield worlds, the ones with the giant holes that lead to the inner surface of the planet. He remembered the reports from the Spirit of Fire. This planet was exactly like the one they had found. The Xenomorphs had been smart to locate themselves in the inner surface, that meant any bombs with sufficient power to wipe them out would wipe out the ship dropping it, as the planet surrounded them on all sides, not allowing them escape from the blast radius.
