Peaceful But Eventful

A few days had passed since the bank robbery. Everything and everyone had settled down since, the law was still trying to track you down but that apparently had no trace, according to Josiah.

You and Dutch had spent some time together throughout the days and the nights. Camp life was getting a little boring. You had overheard some talk with Hosea and Arthur about talking to Colm to reconsider the war between Dutch and him but Arthur was on edge about the whole deal.

After the day had ended you slipped off to the dock where you usually sat but found Arthur to be sitting in your spot.

"Arthur?" You spoke.

"Oh. Hey, y/n" He said turning to you.

"You alright?" You asked.

"Yeah. Just. Worried about this ideal with Hosea meeting with Colm" Arthur explained. "Colm ain't gon take it"

You nodded at him sincerely and sat next to him. "Does Dutch know yet?"

"Not yet. Micah is going to break it to him tomorrow" Arthur replied.

"You think HE will take it?" You asked.

"He'd be stupid to" Arthurs head dropped down.

"I'm sure it'll all be fine" You comforted Arthur.

"Hm" Arthur stared off into the water. "Alright, I got some things to do before nightfall. I'll catch ya later"

You looked up to Arthur. Your hands joined for a moment as you sort of shook hands but it was more of a brush of palms as he walked off. It was kind of your way of showing friendship to each other on a personal level.

....

You sat for a while until you went to your horse. Patting its neck you began to saddle up, tightening the saddle straps along with some minor adjustments.

"Where you going girly?" Micah's voice crept up behind you.

"None of your business" You replied, already annoyed.

"Wow. Fiesty one arn't you? Just like Arthur" He said back, now leaning up the hitching post.

"Don't you have better things to do than bug me?"

"Sure. But I find this more interesting" He chuckled. "Where is Dutch anyways? Thought you two would be in the water's edge enjoying a nice moment"

You looked at him and he had a disgusting smirk on his face. You wanted to throw up but instead, you decided to mount up and take off. You didn't want to deal with him.

Riding off into Rhodes you went straight into the general store.

You needed some new items and some clothing.

Walking in you were instantly greeted by the clerk behind the desk.

"Evening Ma'am. Welcome back" He smiled.

You tipped your hat to him and continued on to the back where the clothing was in boxes. You knew what you wanted and needed, no help needed. Grabbing your sizes, you grabbed some other personal items along with some canned food, vegetables for your horse and some cigarettes then headed to the clerk.

"Just the usual?" He laughed.

"Yep" You smiled at him.

He rang you up and you gave the matching change.

Grabbing your stuff you went out to your horse and began packing up the items onto your horse's bags than walked down to the saloon. As you hitched your horse and began walking you heard someone calling your name.
