Opening her heavy eyes, (Name)'s vision caught nothing but blurred silhouettes. Slowly but surely, her muscles twitched as she used her elbows to raise herself from the brick floor.

Adjusting the noise around her and blinking a couple of times, the girl noticed a tan dog licking Sora's face.

The boy was slumped against the wall, his chin on his chest as his head was dangling. Yeah, they pretty much were thrown back but (Name) didn't expect them to end up in a dark alleyway. What were the odds?

Pushing herself up, the girl groaned as her neck, back, and elbows cracked. They sure spent some time here on the hard floor. She needed to do something.

"Ven?" She blinked once more to find herself in Ventus' arms.

Sighing in relief, the blond boy who had been cradling her in his arms pushed her up with his right arm, making her sit straight.

"Jee... What happened, are you okay? You had me worried there, (Name)." Ven asked, patting the girl's back with concerned eyes.

"Well... All I remember is that Sora and I were thrown back... Kairi... She's gone- she became thin air- Ven that's not possible, right? How-"

"Relax, if Sora and you both survived I bet Riku and Kairi did as well-"

"Riku! Oh my god, I forgot about him he was eaten alive by darkness and-"

"(Name)! I said relax!" Ventus snapped, gripping the girl's cheeks and making her face him.

(Name) nodded hastily, trying to push back the anxious feelings that clouded her.

"You need to lighten up, have hope in them." Ven scolded, brushing the girl's cheeks with his thumb to calm her down.

"I know, it's just... there's something about me- I have this urge to keep everyone safe. To keep you and Sora safe, and what happened just then-"

"It was destiny. I tried keeping people safe, but I guess it didn't work out that well to me..." Ventus trailed off biting the inside of his cheeks, "however, just keep yourself together."

Frowning, (Name) nodded. He was right, she wasn't the only one trying to be a protector. Protectors are also believers; protectors have faith in themselves and others.

"Sora. He had a keyblade with him, how's that possible?" (Name) questioned, her hands reaching to hold Ven's- which were still on both her cheeks.

Pulling his hands down and holding them in her's, she looked up.

Ventus shook his head, "he must have been chosen."

"I'm sorry, I don't understand this at all. Everything happened so quickly. I'm already caught up with my identity crisis, now the whole island disappeared along with everyone on it."

"No-uh, you have Sora."

"And I have you,
but I still just don't get it."

Ventus sighed. "If only I can do something about it... I wish I wasn't stuck dozing off while everyone went through pain and misery and..."

"Like you said, Ventus. Have hope. I'm sorry I made a big deal it's just... I can't grasp anymore concepts and problems at this moment." (Name) spoke honestly, frowning.

"It's fine, don't sweat it. Hey, where did you wake up?" Ventus asked, curious on how the girl woke up safely. "Turns out Sora and I miraculously survived the trip down and ended in a weird alleyway." (Name) answered, shrugging.

"Well, that's not sketchy at all. You better get going, alleyways aren't exactly the safest places."

"Don't worry, all I see is an unconscious Sora with a dog licking his face." (Name) tugged Ven's hands playfully. "That doesn't make it better." Ven scrunched his nose in dissatisfaction.

"Heads up, the king has awoken!"

"Looks like you better get going, huh?"

"You know I'll be right here, right?"

"Way to ruin the moment."

A green-haired, middle-aged man sat atop a cushioned royal purple chair. His whitish eyes searched the vague hologram of the girl.

"Master Amir." A voice interrupted.

The man averted his gaze to the voice's holder, a young black-haired, tan boy wearing a royal blue suit.

"With all due respect, master, but this has never happened before." He asked, his head leaned down in respect.

"What are you implying, Jasper?" Amir, the green-headed man, asked with a strict tone.

Gulping, Jasper continues cautiously, "She's realizing things. It's messing with her psyche. We've never had a case like this, I think we need to cut her short before she realizes something she shouldn't-"

Amir sighed, lazily raising his pale hand to cut Jasper off. "Its, Jasper, not she. You also know very well things will play out as planned. Erasing the memories of something that shouldn't even exist is such an easy job, after all. The show will go on."

"I know sir, but this is a special case. We don't know what to expect. After all, the the living impacts figments' creations at a certain point-" the boy was cut off as his master raised his hand, silencing him once again.

"Nothing will happen, this is merely a show for us to enjoy. A creation of the mind can't simply surpass let alone equal real beings. This figment has a role to fulfill; a purpose to exist. Am I right, Jasper?" the man narrowed his eyes at his follower, knowing well his words silenced him.

"You're right, master. I was just worried." the young boy stated, his head dipping further in shame.

His master nodded, turning his light gray eyes back to the hologram.

Truth be told, Amir didn't expect such story to unfold.

A figment so caught up with the flaws of their existence established a sense of unsafely to the master's state.
No memory or evidence of any figment has been recorded or carried by anyone. Figments never continued living, they simply disappeared after the fulfillment of their purpose- taking whatever they left behind with them.
Sure, the discovery will not affect anyone, but it will sure bring an end to Amir's power.
For all he knows, this one might have as well developed a beating heart or simply a soul.
