Terrence
I was born in a cruel world.
"Haha! That's what you get for being weak!"
The strong take advantage of the weak, and they show no mercy. As I was born on the bottom, I knew this fact all too well.
"Weaklings like you should just do what we say!"
But I was gifted with the ability to be hide from the cruelties of this world.
"Just disappear you piece of sh*t, no one likes you."
The memories of being beaten up brutally on my first day of middle school never left my mind. I still envision their cruelty every day. Getting ganged up on by 3 mid-tiers, getting beaten down again and again, even though I didn't fight back once. Getting broken bones and bruises just because I was weak, even though I did nothing wrong. I just wanted a peaceful life, but this cruel society won't even give me that. I had no choice but to just hide from everything and keep to myself.
My family and I were always undesired by this society, along with countless other weaklings. Our ability, invisibility, gives those around us the impression of being creeps. Even though we never used it for anything malicious we were still slandered and detested.
I was born behind black iron bars, never given a chance to escape. Like the other weaklings in this world I just have to take the pain and live as best I can. I just have to accept that nothing in this cruel world is fair, and that I will never be able to be truly free.
However, while I am weak, I am also gifted. Unlike most low ranked people in this society, I have the option to just hide from conflict. My older brother was the one who taught me how to cope with the cruelties of this world.
"Terrence, if you see conflict, just use your ability and hide. This society can't be changed," my brother Aero told me, "we were given the option to hide; don't let it go to waste."
Being unrecognized by this society that did not desire us was far better than being subject to its cruel hierarchy. I never hoped for anything to change, and had started to get used to life. It wasn't perfect, but I could make friends with low-tiers and fellow low mid-tiers.
However, one day that would all change. After my brother finished high school, he began coming home less and less. It appears he had found a job or something, but he wouldn't tell us what it was. I was suspicious. After a few weeks, he didn't come home at all. I had already started my first year of high school by then. Little did I know, the light of hope for true freedom would present itself to me shortly.
This is a story of how a group of oppressed individuals revolted against this corrupt society. This is a story of how we tried to bring justice to a monster without a name.
