Terrence

Wellston Private High School is a very prestigious high school. It had a renowned education system and many notable alumni. It was also the champion of Turf Wars in the region, so there was a very competitive hierarchy and a plethora of powerful students.

Though it was difficult for weaker students to get in, it was not impossible. Getting a good score on the entrance exam was enough for them to accept you, regardless of your ability. It is a school after all.

My parents sent me here because they had hoped for it to be less focused on violence and more on academics. My brother Aero suffered terribly in the high school he went to; he often came home with broken bones and bruises.

I got out of my parents car and my parents got out to help me move my suitcase from the trunk.

"Remember Terrence, we weren't born with a powerful ability. Try to avoid causing trouble," my dad admonished.

"Yeah, I know dad," I replied. I know he's worried but he can get pretty annoying.

"Oh, please let this school be a more forgiving place than Aero's... maybe if he hadn't suffered so much he would still be with us..." my mother cried. After Aero stopped coming home without any explanation she started crying quite often.

"Stop talking like he's dead mom, I'm sure he's fine," I replied with a sigh. She can be so over-dramatic.

"Listen son, if you ever need anything please let us know. We just want you to be safe," my dad started.

"Yeah yeah I know dad. Our ability lets us avoid conflict, I'll be fine," I hurriedly replied while taking my suitcase and moving towards the school.

"Stay safe!" my parents called after me.

I sighed. They worry way too much.

I followed the horde of students towards the school. The beige coloured school was very large, showing very big windows and had an elegant rectangular design. It seemed to be at least four stories tall and the dormitories next to it weren't any smaller. I continued down the pavement and was met with a beige haired man with glasses. He was quite tall and appeared to be in his thirties.

"Hey there! Welcome to Wellston! I'm your head of security, Keene. You can pick up your keys with your room number at the secretary's office."

"Ok, thanks," I replied with a nod as I walk inside the school to the secretary's office.

I got in line to get my room keys. The line contained students from all years waiting to collect their keys.

In front of me, a green haired student and a brown haired student were talking.

"Hey there, I'm Crail. What kind of ability do you have?" the green haired student asked the brown haired student.

"I can shoot needles out of my hands," the brown haired boy replied, "my name's Lin by the way."

"Cool," Crail replied, "I can punch things kinda hard, that's about it." He put his hand behind his head and let out a little chuckle.

"Well, since we're both not too powerful, why don't we stick together," Lin asked.

"Sure," Crail agreed.

"NEXT!" the secretary shouted as the person in the front of the line walks up to get their keys. Great, I still have to wait quite a long time.

The guy behind me suddenly tapped my back. I turned around and was greeted by a magenta haired student.

"Hi, my name's Krolik," he said, "my ability lets me shoot lasers. Pretty cool right?"
