A story to remember

Part 2 Husain

"You know I feel numb inside. Like I'm still so confused. It's like He opened a book and left it open. I have no answers to what happened. He started ignoring me out of the blue." I say.
" He still hasn't reached out to you ?" Faith asks. I shake my head.
" He hasn't and he probably won't either. I just don't get it. The worst part is that he left me feeling so confused. There are days were I think I don't care I deserve better than him. I can do better than him and that I don't need him. But then there are days were I miss him so much. My heart aches so badly on those days." I explain. Tears start to form in my eyes. I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
" He left quite the scare, didn't he?" She asks. I nod. But stay silent. Husain I wish I never met you in the first place.
*flashback
"ROSE HURRY UP IM NOT GOING TO WAIT FOR YOU ALL DAY!" I scream. Right now I'm waiting for Rose to finally get down so we can go to the lake to have a Picknick together.
" OKAY IM COMING DOWN DON'T GET YOUR PANTIES IN A BUNCH" she yells back while coming down the stairs. We start walking to the lake. We talk about random shit. Once we get to the lake we set our blanket, get our food out and sit down.
" So what's going on with you and Mason ?" Rose asks. I look at her confused.
" What do you mean? There's nothing going on between me and Mason." I say. She looks at me like she doesn't believe me.
"Well you two look very close." Rose says.
" Well he told me he likes me very much. But you know I always saw him as a friend and nothing more. Also he's moving to England. It's not like we could have a future together anyways. He'll always be dear to me tho." I tell her.
" I see. You are right tho I mean he is moving after all. Also why did he tell you now." She asks.
" Well you know he mustered up all his courage. He said he had nothing to lose anyways since he is moving away soon. So he just told me." I explain to her. We change the topic and start to joke around and make fun.
" Hey do you feel like eating an ice cream?" Rose says.
" Well there's always room for ice cream." I say.
We pack all our stuff up and walk to the ice shop. On our way there we talk about stupid stuff again.
" Omg there is Husain." Rose states. I didn't look up. Husain and Rose used to go to the same middle school together. They were in a class. I heard about him a few times from Rose and other people. I didn't know him myself tho. His cousin is in Shays class. I don't look at him and walk past him without thinking twice about him. I smile at his cousin tho. Just because I know him from my sister. Rose also chose to ignore him. Mainly because she didn't know if he still remembers her or not.  After we had ice cream we go back home.

*one week passes

It's 11pm and I'm chilling in my bed with nothing better to do than to scroll down on Instagram. Suddenly I get a follow request. Nothing to be shocked about every one gets follow request it's normal it's Instagram after all. I check out who that person is. I am shocked to see his name on my screen. Okay so you probably have guessed it by now it's Husain. Wow. I take a screenshot and send it to Rose.
*OMG HAHAHAHA ACCEPT IT* Rose
* Hm should I ?* Me
*YES!* Rose
I do as she says and accept his follow request. I continue to scroll down my Instagram page and forget about Husain completely. Around 1 am I get a text from him saying
*good morning👀*
Uhm wtf it's one in the morning what does he mean with good morning I thought to myself.
I text back saying
*good morning 😂*
We start a conversation. Just small talk really. Around 11am he asks me what I'm doing I tell him that I am cleaning up my room.
He then texted me saying
*Well you can clean up my room as well* Isn't he a funny one.
I text back saying
*only if you help me clean up my room*
He replies saying
* Okay but my room is really dirty*
I laugh and text
* Well then I'm going to take some interests*
He laughs. These few texts already made my heart jump. You see I never had a real boyfriend before nor did I text with random guys like that. But something in my heart told me text him back. So for the first time in my life I listened to my heart and gave someone a chance. Now I see it as a mistake.
I shouldn't have texted back. I shouldn't have accepted his request to follow me.
We kept texting back and forth for a while. Day two of us talking. I had to go to work today. I work in a small store as a cashier. I'll spare you the boring details. Time to go home. Me and my colleague close the shop up and start walking home. Mind you I looked like shit on that day. As we were walking I see Husain walking with his friend. I try to somehow hide so he wouldn't see me. I really didn't want him to see me like this. A few moments later I receive a video of him. I was afraid to open it. I let 10 min pass and then open up his snap. He was in a car with his friend. The police stopped him for some reason and he was complaining about it. I texted asking
*what happened?*
He texted right way saying
*The police stopped us*
Well I kind of got that from the video. I didn't get a chance to reply because he texted me asking me where I am. I lost all color in my face. Shit shit shit he did see me in the city. Someone shoot me please. I texted back saying *I'm walking home. Was that you in the City just now ?*
He sent me a voice note saying yes that was him. I asked him if he saw me too. He texted back saying
* No else i would've come up to you*
Then all of a sudden he calls me. I pick up but hide my face. He says "Hi, what's up?"
"Uhm walking home right now what about you ?" I ask.
" I'm still out with friends. Btw why didn't you come up to me when you saw me" he asks.
Oh snap what am I supposed to say. Well because I looked like shit today ? Nope definitely not saying that.
" Well first of all I wasn't sure if it was you and second of all you were enjoying an ice cream with your friend I didn't want to disturb you" I answer. Lol good one Meena.
" Haha okay but next time come up to me and say hi." He says.
" Okay will do!" I answer.
" So I heard you'll be treating me to an ice cream tomorrow?" He teases me.
"Hmm I heard the same about you" i say.
" Well then we'll have to meet up" he says
" Maybe. So I'm gonna hang up now." I say
"Alright then bye."
Right away he texted.
* So about that ice cream ? How about we meet up tomorrow? * he asks
* Well I'm working tomorrow. And i also don't meet up with guys that I just met so...* I answer
* Well then maybe another time.* he says.
I left him on open. From that day on we kept texting back and forth. He'd only text me when I post something on my story. Most of our chats looked like this.

* Wow without me I see* Husain
* come one over I still saved a bit for you* lil old me
* haha I'll be right there* Husain
He posts something fun on his story
* I see your having fun without me ? * me
* Well you didn't ask to tag along * Husain
* Well you didn't ask me to come along* me
ALL THE TIME WE TEXTED LIKE THAT. AT THIS POINT EVEN MY FRIENDS WERE ANNOYED WITH OUR CONVO.
Bare in mind we live in the same city and never crossed paths during the time we texted. But one day I was going home from work with a colleague again. We walked together until we had to go separat ways. But my colleague had sooooo many things to complain about so we just stood there and I let her complain. After she was done complaining we said our byes and where going our own ways. I look on my phone and see a text from Husain.
* I think I just saw you.*
My heart is racing thousand miles per hour.
* oh what really where?*i ask him. Maybe he just thought he saw me but in reality it was someone else who knows.
* yeah on old town street.* Husain.
Ok I think I'm going to faint. That was definitely me.  Did I look alright ? Is he going to unfollow me now? Does he think I'm ugly?
* Oh yeah haha that was me. Why didn't you come up to say hi?" I text back
* Well I was in my car driving past you. Besides you were talking to someone. I'm guessing your boss or colleague.* Husain
* Oh yeah that was my colleague.* me
* Oh okay lol.* Husain.
Well dry much. What am I supposed to answer to that. I'll just leave him on open. Don't judge he left me on open quite a few time as well.

A few days later he texted me the same thing like I told you before.
* wow without me once again* Husain.
* Yes ofc without you.* I text annoyed
* Wow I'll remember that* Husain.
* Well you never ask me to hang out so....* I text. Uhm wow where is that confidence coming from? I ask myself.
* Well you never tell me when you have time.* Husain.
* Well you never ask me when I have time* Me
* So when do you have time?* Husain.
OMG IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING.
" GURRRLL OMG. YOU ARE FINALLY GOING TO GO ON A DATE WOOOHOOO!" Faith cheers. Oh yeah Faith was chilling at my place at that time.
" Omg this is so exiting. Okay I'm going to text back." I answer. You could hear the excitement from my voice.
*Well you tell me when you have time.*I text back.
* Well I got time everyday. You tell me.* Husain
* Hmm how about Thursday?* Me
* Sounds good to me.* Husain
* What time should we meet tho* Me
* It's up to you really* Husain
* Alright then how about 3pm* Me
* Alright we'll meet up at the fair* Husain.
* Okay I'll see you then.* Me
He left me on open afterwards. I got 2 days to get ready for that day. You know first date and all. First impression is everything after all. My and Faith decide to go shopping for an outfit for me.
"Omg i can't find anything" I complain.
" Girl calm down. We've been searching for 20 min." Faith says.
" Sorry you know, nervousness and all." I say.
" Don't worry everything we'll go fine." She tries to calm me down.
We continue to search for the perfect outfit for me. After some hours of outfit hunting we finally find the perfect outfit. A boyfriend jeans, a white oversized button up shirt paired with white Nike Air Force. I get home in the evening. I greet my family and head up to my room.
" Omg I'm so tired!" I say while falling down on my bed.
" Talking to yourself again." Jacob says.
I look in his direction and saw him leaning against my door.
" I'm not in the mood for this please get out" I say annoyed.
" What's up with you ?" He asks.
" Nothing just tired. Now leave." I answer.
I get up take my pajamas out of my closet and go to the bathroom. I take a hot shower and get out of the shower. This time no one disturbed me so I could fully enjoy that shower. I get dressed into my pajamas and head back to my room. And go straight to bed.

* The next morning*

I wake up to my little brother shaking me.
" ugh let me sleep squirt" I say really sleepy.
" wake up it's already 12 pm. You been sleeping very long. I knew you were an animal. But I didn't know you were an animal that needs to hibernate." He says.
"I almost laugh now get the hell out" I say. I hear him leaving the room and continue my lovely sleep. If you're asking why I'm not going to college today. Well it's because of some kind of conference my teachers have. We got the whole week off. A well deserved week off.

Tomorrow is the day where I will be meeting up with Husain. I wake up with a smile and do all my preparations for tomorrow. I shave my legs and take a shower. Afterwards I put a face mask on. I look at my phone and see that Faith is trying to FaceTime me. I pick up her call and she say " Hola mi amiga. What's good?"
" Nothing much what about you ?" I ask
" Nothing really. So how are the preparations coming along?" She asks.
" Good!" I say excited.
" Nice. So how about we have a sleepover after your date tomorrow so we talk stuff out?" She asks me.
" Sure invite Bella as well. " I answer. (At that time Rose was in Canada for a business course)
" Wait let me add her to the call." Faith says.
She adds Bella to the call. It takes a few moments but she picks the call up eventually.
" Sup guys?" Bella greets.
" Sup" Faith and me answer at the same time. We laugh.
" Can you guys come over to help me get ready for tomorrow ?  Need you guys to tell me if I look great or not. Also Faith can you please please please curl my hair ?" I beg them.
"Sure thing girl" faith answers.
" sure I'll come over." Bella answers. I thank them and we continue talking about my date and other random things. After a while I hear my mom call me for dinner. Wow is it so late already. I didn't even eat lunch today. That's how excited I am.
" Guys I'll have to hang up. We'll talk tomorrow. 11 am sharp at my place?" I say and cut the call. I go downstairs to eat dinner. I sit down next to my brother and start eating.
" So how was your day love ?" mom asks me.
" it's was good " I say. We talk for a bit and then go back to my room and go to sleep.
Tomorrow is the day. Let's see what happens......
