Over the past five years, everything that Elisa had known was gradually falling apart. The human military had turned their backs on the Transformers. In simple terms transformers were beings that were able to turn into cars or anything else they could scan that fit their body-type. The problem was that Elisa wasn't a transformer at all. She was an organic dragon that had been adopted by a small group of autobots when she was just a sparkling. Now at the age of twenty-one she stuck to her adoptive sire.

Optimus Prime.

Optimus Prime was the leader of the autobots. The autobots were the good transformers that were fighting the bad transformers the decepticons. Their war has devastated the planet and now the humans had turned into the enemy. While Elisa may have been organic, dragons did live among transformers on their home planet of Cybertron. Elisa was a rare find and she was a well-kept secret from the humans.

But now the humans were hunting her too.

As a sparkling, Elisa had been found abandoned and she was taken in by the autobots. Optimus Prime took on the role of her Sire and his bond mate Ratchet took on the role of her Carrier, but now Ratchet was dead and Optimus and Elisa were on the run. Optimus had no choice but to take on a new vehicle mode. He had to ditch the Peterbuild and go for a flat-nose truck. His paint job was heavily faded and Elisa knew he was worn down. The autobots were forced to separate because someone else was helping the humans, but they didn't know who.

Not yet anyway.

They had been on the road for quite a while now and Elisa stared out the window looking over the grassy landscape. She occasionally rubbed the dashboard as a comforting gesture as she could feel the tension coming from him. She felt him slow down and she looked to see an abandoned gas station coming up ahead. When he slowed to a stop Elisa got out of the truck and he transformed and stood up.

"I need to stretch my legs." He said quietly as he moved around for a bit. She smiled up at him before heading into the gas station. She took a quick bathroom break before looking around the place. There wasn't any good food, but a few bottles of water that she would take. She heard the sound of her Sire's gears shifting and when she looked outside, she saw his vehicle mode again.

"Can't we stay the night?" Elisa asked curiously.

"I'm afraid not Elisa. It will be dark soon and I want to get a head start before stopping for the night." He insisted. She let out a small sigh before climbing back in and looking out the window for another drive. She was asleep but the time Optimus stopped for the night. He hid in a small area and gazed up at the stars before settling down for the night.

"Sire do you know if anyone else is out there?" She asked as she looked around.

"I do not know Elisa." Optimus said sadly

"I'm sorry about Carrier." She said quietly.

"It's alright Elisa. You don't have to apologize for something you can't control." Optimus said sincerely.

"Maybe you should do that too." She added trying to cheer him up. Optimus had always been a quiet and respectful mech, but ever since Ratchet had been killed he had quieter than usual. They had a late start to the day as they had overslept and so not long after it was out on the road again. "I miss your real truck mode." She said absent-mildly.

"I know, but I had to take this form to cover our tracks." Optimus said. "When this is all over I promise I will scan that vehicle mode just for you." He said sweetly. Elisa had to laugh and she patted the dashboard in thanks. The moment was short lived as she ducked when she heard a helicopter. "It's alright Elisa. It's too high to see us and it's already past us." Optimus explained quickly.

"I'm only doing what you taught me." She said nervously.

"I know baby."

It was a few hours before Optimus came up to another rest stop. He dropped Elisa off and drove away to hide as this rest stop had plenty of people there. Nobody bothered her or paid her any noticed, but that didn't bother her. She got a meal with some money she got before they went on the run and ate her meal in silence. A quick wash up and Elisa left. She saw clouds overhead and she figured it was going to rain soon, but the sound of rolling thunder confirmed that. She started walking and looked around for Optimus. He did appear before she was out of the parking lot and they were on their way again.

"Get some sleep Elisa." He said a little while later.

"You should too, you know." She added as she crawled into the long back seat.

"I know, but we have to keep moving." He said.

"Good night Sire."

"Good night baby."

Optimus didn't want to panic Elisa as she was still asleep, but he was seeing black cars trailing him through the rain. They had kept the same distance from him for the past hour and a half and now Optimus was getting ready to lose them now. He revved up his speed and dodged the other spare cars as suddenly the black cars sped up after him. Optimus knew to be careful because of the rain. He or the enemy could slip in the water and cause a major pile-up at any time, so he wasn't planning on transforming. He saw people getting out of the windows and firing at him. The civilian cars immediately scattered and Optimus shot forward. Elisa, used to the shaking, didn't wake. He heard popping and flinched as he was hit with bullets. Elisa jumped out of the make-shift bed and looked around trying to figure out what was going on.

"Sire what's happening?" She asked.

"Stay low, we're under attack." He stated. She laid down on the floor and covered her hears as she heard more bullets hit the truck. She started shaking when she heard a helicopter near-by as sirens blared and engines revved up. He took the nearest exit and scrambled off the road into the nearby woods. Several cars swerved out of the way to avoid crashing into trees. Other cars rolled down the path Optimus made for them as he kept swerving this way and that. Elisa flinched when she heard explosions going off too close for comfort. Elisa couldn't take it and spared a glance out the window and saw cars trailing them. She yelped when Optimus made a sudden turn and hit the floor again. He swerved around and knocked both cars onto their sides as he easily plowed through them. She heard more sirens in the background as he skidded to a spot.

"Elisa get out and find a place to hide. I'll lose them in the woods." He ordered. She knew better than to argue at this stage in their running so she scrambled out and ran for cover as he dove off. She was instantly soaked as it was raining hard with an occasional flash of lightning. Nobody was following her just yet, but she wasn't going to wait. Eventually she came up to a large tree and started to climb.

It was then that she heard the sound of a gun.

She shouted in pain as the bullet went right through her shoulder and the wood of the tree splintered as she fell to the ground hard. Not a few seconds later she was yanked to her feet and stared up a familiar face.

James Savoy.

He had a big grin on his face as he glanced down at her.

"Where's your friend gone?" He asked.

"I don't know. Trying to ditch your sorry ass." She spat back. She grunted when he punched her hard in the gut and she nearly coughed up her dinner nearly falling to her knees. He grabbed her bullet wound and started to drag her towards the car. That was the one thing that Optimus told her and it echoed into her head.

Never get in their car.

She yanked her arm out and punched Savoy right in the face. She wished he had been wearing his sunglass because she really wanted to break them. When Savoy went down, she started running and did her best to try not to slip through the mud. Optimus told her that she couldn't turn into her true form in front of the humans. It would send them into a hunting frenzy as they had never seen Elisa's body, but heard from other transformers that they had tortured before killing them. She heard a buzzing behind her and groaned when she saw the dragonfly drones following her. She heard more gunfire and kept going. She used her strength to go as fast as her legs could carry her, but she let out a scream of pain when a bullet hit her in the back. She sobbed in fear and pain as they were on her quickly. Savoy was glaring down at her again as she bit her lip to keep from screaming.

"How fast can you heal?" He asked darkly as he pointed the gun at her face. She let out scream of fear and shook with sobs as the gun remained pointed at her temple. A familiar honking sounded and Optimus transformed and started firing on the swat team. Elisa rolled into a ball and covered her head as they scrambled to fire back. He made sure to get the cars as the helicopter was nowhere to be found at the moment.

"Elisa!" Optimus shouted as he transformed. She scrambled into the truck as he drove off sending mud flying at the injured team. Elisa was whimpering hard as Optimus lost the special ops team in the rain and mud. He took only dirt roads and when Elisa stopped making noise he stopped. A tall man with brown hair and blue eyes suddenly appeared in the driver's seat as this was Prime's human form. "Elisa...Elisa baby." He called out as he lifted her into his arms. She groaned and looked up at him for a brief moment. Her eyes were hazy, but she pushed him away and threw up out the window. His eyes went wide when he saw her shirt was covered in blood. When she was done she slumped back into Prime's arms. He saw her arm was bleeding too as he gently and cautiously took off her shirt. He took out the first-aid kit and bandaged her arm and then looked at her back. She whimpered in pain as he examined the wound. He breathed as small sigh of relief as it wasn't near her spine, but lodged deep in muscle. He bandaged the wound as best as he could.

"Elisa come on...I need to get you out of these wet clothes." He said quickly. She groaned as she stood up and helped Optimus take off her shoes, socks, and pants. Even though she was in a bra and underwear she still blushed as Optimus wrapped her up in a blanket. "I don't want you to get sick." He said gently.

"I know." She giggled before she flinched in pain. "You can't take it out?" She asked leaning into his arms. He rubbed her shoulders in comfort and kissed her head.
"I'm not going to let you bleed to death if I remove it. I don't have the right equipment because...because I'm...not a medic." He said sadly. Tears were forming in their eyes as Optimus lifted her into his lap and started to cry as he rocked her back and forth as she held him tightly. "I'm sorry Elisa. I'm so sorry." He sobbed. He was already on his way to get her when he heard her scream of fear. In the years he had raised her, Elisa hardly ever screamed in fear. Elisa was a brave femme and always fought back. When she screamed in fear things were bad. When he saw the gun in her face he went into a fit of rage and fired on everything that moved. He felt her fear and pain through the spark bond they had created as a Sire to a sparkling when he had found her. He didn't want to feel that anymore. He wanted her safe and sound and in peace.

"You don't have to apologize for things you can't control." Elisa said tenderly. He only held her closer and just refused to let her go.
