I woke up to the sun, hitting my face. I opened my eyes and was immediately blinded.
I turned over and noticed Max was still asleep.
I reached into the drawer on my bedside and took out my phone. I opened it and checked if Namjoon texted.
My face dropped when I saw that he didn't text me at all. I put my phone down and quietly got up from the bed.
I went to the bathroom and began to wash my face. Once I looked up, I saw the marks of Max's hand on my neck.
I touched my neck lightly, and I looked back down.
"Good, you're up. I'm taking you to school, okay? Want to stop and get breakfast real quick?"
I turned around and saw Max leaning against the door frame of the bathroom. He had no shirt on and was eyeballing me.
He tended to wake up right when I wake up.
"Yeah, I'd like that."
He nodded and walked away.
...
"So there's this new cafe. I think you'll like it. Kathy told me about it."
Kathy? Who's Kathy?
"Who's Kathy?"
He looked at me then back at the road.
"The girl you saw with at the party. Cool chick."
He said that with no care in his voice. No pity.
I looked out the window and stayed quiet.
We soon got to the cafe. Right when I got out of the car and looked at the cafe, I knew exactly where we were — the same place Namjoon took me.
"Come on."
I looked at Max, and he smiled at me. He held my hand and intertwined those cold fingers with mine once again.
We walked inside and sat down in a corner.
It was different from being here with Max. The air was stiffer. It didn't feel calm and cute anymore.
"You like it? I like it."
I nodded at him and smiled.
"Yeah."
The waiter came and took our order and eventually brought back drinks for us.
Right when the waiter left, Max looked at me with a straight face.
"Want to know how I found about this place?"
I took a sip of my water and looked at Max, trying to figure out what he was going to say.
"How."He crossed his fingers together and cleared his throat, and leaned over the table.
"Kathy saw you here with your teacher. What the fuck were you doing here with him, huh?!"
My eyes widened in terror. His face grew in anger.
"You want to go and cheat on me, you whore!"
He grabbed his coffee and threw it at me. He then stormed out causing his chair to fly behind him.
I looked at my clothes and cried.
All of a sudden, I felt someone touch my arm and I looked up. It was the waiter. He had a rag in his hand and eyes full of pity.
