A knock back...literally.

I twist the doorknob and open the old, dark wooden door. I get a wave of anxiety of what I am about to do, but it is soon replaced by excitement.

My feet hesitantly walk out of the doorway into the crisp night time air. I close the door behind me and say goodbye to the life I once knew, and am now leaving behind. Forever this time! Even though it's almost nine o'clock at night, and I live in Washington, it is surprisingly warm out tonight. The date is June 29th and summer is just starting to creep up on this rainy cold state. I smile to myself as I walk down the steps to the cracked sidewalk that surrounded our apartment.

I have walked this sidewalk a million times but never had the same feeling I have now. This time is different. I feel happy, I feel excited, I feel exhilarated, I feel... free...

You know the feeling you get when you go on a elevator and your stomach feels weird? This feeling is a mixture of that, and feeling giddy when you get off a rollercoaster. And my god. It is the best feeling in the world.

I walk at a steady pace to a bus stop a few blocks near my house. Hands shoved in my pockets, and kicking a rock in front of me, I couldn't be happier. I start to daydream about what it will be like once I get to California... maybe I will meet someone to be with forever... and we will get married, and live in a big house, and have a dog!, (Preferably a boxer) and we will have kids that we will raise, and take family vacations, and ugh... it will be amazing. I will have the life I ways wanted. I feel a tear start to run down my cheek and I wipe it away before anyone can see.

As soon as I look back up, I am shoved backwards and onto the cold ground. It feels like I have been hit by a truck!

Ugh fuck.

I groan as I sit up and look at the bruise that now covers my right hip.

Great another one to add to my collection.

"Oh my god! Are you okay?!"

I hear a voice say to me. As I look up at the rude stranger, my gaze is met my the deepest green eyes I have ever seen.

"I am so sorry! Are you okay?"

He repeats his question, I realized I haven't answered him the first time...

"Y-yeah I'm fine... just a bruise."

I say sitting up more. He reaches for my hip and I flinch at his movements. But quickly relax due to the concerned look now on his face. "You sure you okay?" He asks once more. Probably wondering why I flinched.

"Yeah I'm sure."

I say pulling myself to stand. "I'm really really sorry. I wasn't look where I was going... my name's Sailor by the way!" He says with a smile.
"Nice to meet you Sailor, My name is Carter."
