Chapter Two

"I'm her, partner" Deeks cleared his throat. The doctor had a sorry look on his face. "Well I'm sorry Mr Deeks but I can't give you any information about Miss Blye if you are not an immediate member for her family or I have permission from someone who is" he said, taking off his gloves. Deeks sighed, he was afraid of this. "Can I at least see her?" he asked. The doctor shook his head, I'm afraid that's not possible" he said "is there anyone we can call in Miss Blye's family that can get here by tomorrow?" the doctor then asked. Deeks could feel himself getting emotional, he was worried and angry. Deeks sat back down and clenched his fists. "There's no one" Callen replied. The doctor looked sadden by this "well then, have a good evening gentlemen" and with that he left the room. Sam checked his watch "I better be going, Callen you coming?" he asked. Callen looked at Deeks "yeah I'm coming" he replied. "Deeks?" Sam then asked. "Nah, I think I'm gonna stay here for a while, you know, just in case" Deeks said not raising his head. Sam nodded at Callen and they both left. It was getting late, Deeks pulled up a chair to rest his feet on, it was going to be a long night.

"No no no, Kensi stay with me!"

"Deeks are you all good?"

"Kensi's....Kensi hit"

"Kensi you stay with me"

Kensi, you know you can't die after you are the one who made me promise not to get myself killed, that rule counts for you too!"

"KENSI!!!"

"We're sorry Mr Deeks, Miss Blye didn't make it through the night"

"No, this can't be real"

"KENSI"

Deeks suddenly woke up and wipe is face with his hands. He ran his fingers through his hair an looked at his watch, 4:00am. He didn't even remember falling asleep. The doctors and nurses were still running up and down the halls with their clip boards and medication. Deeks walked out of the waiting room, maybe if he could find the room they were keeping Kensi in he could at least see here through the door window.

He walked down the hall trying not to be noticed, look through the windows as he went. "Mr Deeks?" he heard a voice say from behind him. Deeks turned around to see the doctor from earlier. "I um got lost" Deeks said unconvincingly. The doctor nodded and flipped a page on his clip board. "We contacted Miss Blye's mother, she is unable to come, but she did say that her daughter had told her that if she was ever in hospital that we would be able to share information with you Mr Deeks" the doctor explained. Deeks smiled slightly at the information he was being told. "Okay, so tell me, what's going on?" Deeks asked. The doctor lead Deeks into a small office to the left of the hall. "Take a seat" he said. Deeks was worried, if everything was okay why would the doctor want to speak in private. "Miss Blye -" the doctor started but was interrupted "can you call her Kensi please, its Kensi" Deeks asked. "Okay Kensi suffered severe internal bleeding, the bullets did not puncture her heart, and the surgery went well however we have left her in a medically induced coma so that she can heal faster" the doctor explained. Deeks was speechless; he didn't know what to say. He was relieved that she was okay, but his partner was in a coma, his Kensi. A few moments of silence pasted. "Mr Deeks?" the doctor said. Deeks suddenly realised he hadn't said anything in a while. "A, a coma? Okay so how long will it take? I mean when can I see her?" Deeks asked. "We aren't sure how long she will be in the coma for, as long as her body needs, as for when you can see her, right now if you would like" the doctor smiled slightly.
