Hi guys! I'm so excited, this is officially the final book in the Clalec series. As a way of making up for my terrible updating previously I thought I'd give you a sneak preview of what's to come. Enjoyyy! :)

Alec POV

I was in a rush and quickly grabbed my bag before leaving. I accidentally knocked one of the books off the shelf in my way past causing a large thud sound

"Eugh it's my one day to sleep" Maddy groaned coming out of her room

"Sorry Mads" I replied picking up the book to put it back. That's when I realised what it was

Our wedding album.

Maddy POV

Alec picked up the book and it looked different from the rest. I took a few steps closer and realised it was their wedding album. He hadn't looked at it since the accident. I had Jack's number in case of emergencies now so I text him saying that Alec was going to be late

"Alec?" I said quietly but he didn't answer, just stared at the front cover looking conflicted as to whether he should open it or not

He put his hands on the cover and started turning it slowly to the front page, revealing the picture of him and Clary

She was looking at the camera with a big smile on her face but all his attention was on her. Smiling at her in adoration

I glanced up at Alec and saw tears brimming in his eyes. Suddenly he slammed the book shut causing me to jump and put it back up. This time on a higher shelf knowing he wouldn't be able to knock it down

"I have to go" he muttered grabbing his keys

"You can't avoid it forever" I told him

"I know" he said quietly "but not today"

Once he was gone I reached up and grabbed the album looking through all the pictures myself. There was one right at the end with Alec and Clary looking at each other. The look of pure love on their faces

That's when I realised. His heart hadn't broken in two. It had shattered into pieces like glass. And there was only one person who could put him back together completely

But she was gone.
