Charlie sat up in bed with a jump, she ran a hand down her face. She reached over and picked her glasses up from her nightstand. Then pulled the curtains back to look outside, it was pouring rain outside at the moment. Heavily pouring, she swung her legs over the side of her bed and left her room.
Popping the front door of her house, Charlie walked out into her front porch. She listened to the rain hit the roof of the porch. Rain had always comforted her, but now it didn't really. It just made her extremely sad.
A scream left her lips as lightning hit one of her mother's rose bushes directly in front of her. She slammed back into the front door causing it to open and for her to fall onto her back. Her eyes were wide as her dogs barked loudly beside her. All jumping and licking to see if she was alright.
But lightning. Lightning actually striking this close, let alone in her yard, was absolutely terrifying. This never happened before.
Charlie choked out in shock, "What the fuck?"
"Ava-" Yennefer pushed the doors to Ava's room open, walking inside tentatively to see that she was sleeping soundly in this kind of weather. She jumped as lightning struck somewhere outside the compounds of Aretuza. "Ava!"
Rolling over in her bed, Ava grumbled in her sleep, "What is it, Charlie?"
A soft voice came from her, not wanting to try and poke her. The last time that happened she was accidentally smacked by Ava, "It's Yen."
Ava scrunched her brows together and groggily opened her eyes, "What?" She focused in on purple eyes and realized she wasn't just sleeping inside of Charlie's bedroom. Ava slowly pulled herself up, she was really having a hard time adjusting to not being home, "Oh, hey, what's up?"
"I don't like the lightning..." Yennefer admitted, poking her fingers together.
"Mm-" Ava adjusted herself on her bed so there was enough room for Yennefer, "Come on-" She wrapped her arms around Yennefer with a small smile on her face, "It's not too bad, Yen."
"It's better now..."
Ava giggles softly and runs her hand through Yennefer's hair, bringing her as close as she could to herself, "Don't worry about the lightning, or the rain, just don't worry about anything while you're with me."
"I try." Yennefer admits in Ava's chest, "I try. I-I just-"
"You're doing fine." Ava whispers knowing exactly what was on Yennefer's mind, "You will do just fine. I think that one day... you'll be a powerful sorceress."
Yennefer laughs happily and sits up in the bed, "You really believe that?"
"I know it." Ava sat up with her so she could look at Yennefer, "So, did you see Istredd again tonight?"
"I did." Yennefer gushes with a smile, feeling her cheeks warm up as she thought of him, "He really understands me."
"That's lovely." Ava rubs at her eyes for a moment as she starts to wake up from sleep, "As long as you remember that I understand as well."
