Charlotte spat the water from her mouth, still not comprehending what had just happened. She was pulled and now she was somewhere she did not recognize. She wafted for a second in the water while looking around. Charlotte reached out and ran her hands over her hair, knowing that it would soon frizz up into curls because of the water.
Trudging through the swampy water, Charlotte was soaked head to toe in the most disgusting water she had ever been in. She felt absolutely disgusting, she pulled at her blouse and twisted as much water from it. Looking down at it now, she almost choked at the tear in the side of it. That was a shirt her mother bought her after she graduated college, she'd surely kill her for it.
"Now the main question-" Charlotte huffed out, listening to the sound of her clothes dripping onto the muddy ground. "Where am I exactly?"
The place was pretty eerie to her, there were absolutely no leaves on the trees. Like the entire place was burnt to a crisp and then it rained for days. Kind of like her parents' backyard after the controlled fire spread into their yard. It was definitely creepy but not enough that she'd be quivering.
Rationalize. Think. Think. Do not panic.
Charlotte's mind was racing despite the relatively normal expression on her face. She hadn't really moved since she got out of the swamp either. She looked right at this little fawn, that looked at her, then it sprinted away. Either afraid of her or just wanting to go back to it's mother or something.
Suddenly, something came flying out from the water, striking Charlotte in the process. She cried out in pain and fell down to the ground. Using the adrenaline that was pumping through her body, Charlotte went kicking away on the ground. Practically crawling backwards on her ass to get as much distance as her and this monster.
A monster that she vaguely recognized. Her mouth felt pretty dry at this point, she pressed her hand down on her thigh, where the gash was at. A wheezed breath came out of her as the monster released a loud cry as the very appendage that struck her was cut off by a sword. Which finally brought Charlotte's attention to the quite large man fighting said monster.
"Spider... thing-" Charlotte whispers under her breath, pressing harder on her wound now as her hands grow warm from her own blood. Inhaling deeply through her nose and exhaling through her mouth, Charlotte felt her brain racing. "Kikimora!" She suddenly yells as the man strikes once again, straight through its head.
A nervous laugh escaped her lips the second he looked her way. Charlotte was extremely terrified of him now. He had just killed that kikimora, what she thinks is a kikimora, and now he was looking over at her. His face was ghastly pale, protruding black veins under his black eyes. It was a very serious, scary kind of expression on his face as well.
She exhaled finally as the pain was really getting to her, her eyes drooping for a second just as she exhaled again. When he stepped from the water, Charlotte practically shrieked. But it was strained as she felt water well up in her eyes while she tried to ignore the burning and throbbing pain from her thigh.
