what just happened. why did he just leave like that? did i say something wrong?

a lot of questions flooded inside my head that needed to be answered, but it's not like i care about him. i just wonder why he acted that way.

"taissa!" tessa yelled from the table and it earned her stares from the people, it obviously bothered them since it was early in the morning.

well, 9:30 is still too early for me.

i sat down on the chair opposite of them and the fragrance of the newly cooked pancakes made my tongue melt. i didn't bother to put up a conversation though because i could feel my insides burning due to it's emptiness.

after the plate was clean and spotless, i excused myself from the table and walked to the bathroom. my stomach growled and i felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, but i shrugged it off.

"i guess i ate too much." i went inside one of the stalls and threw up what i just devoured minutes ago. i wiped the disgusting shit off my lips and decided to sprinkle water on my face to somewhat wake myself up.

"hey, you alright?" i turned my neck so quick i thought it was gonna break.

"why are you here? this is the ladies room." he smiled as he lifted up a bucket with stuffs in it.

"i'm on duty here every two hours or when there's no one occupying it."

"uhm, hello. do you like not consider me as a human, you know, occupying this room." he chuckled, his blonde locks covered his blue eyes.

"i'm also here because my boss told me to clean this shithole up. i don't wanna get fired again, ya know?"

"fair enough." he nodded, as a sign of understanding.

"well, i gotta go now. my friends are probably looking for me." he softly grabbed my arm and turned me around, not in an aggressive way though.

"you..you wanna hang out sometime?" his eyes looked warm and dark eventhough it was in a light blue shade.

"yeah, yeah sure. that'll be..ok." it felt like my mouth was dry when those words left my lips, but he didn't care. he smiled and let go of me.

"oh and one more thing," i turned around, half annoyed half excited, "here's my number." he handed me a piece of paper and i just nodded. the last view i saw before i closed the door was him smiling at me.

"taissa's been gone for 10 minutes, tess. something might have happened to her."

"relax, evan. she went to the bathroom, maybe thinking about stuffs she wants to do for the rest of the week since kyle's not here to accompany her." i rolled my eyes in annoyance. if i was a thick faced asshole, i would've busted myself inside the bathroom, but i'm not. well, i am, but when i'm around taissa, i feel like a...different version of me.

a better version.

i was about to stand up from where i was sitting, but then a familiar voice spoke up.

"you guys ready?"

taissa.

my eyes twinkled in excitement as though i've just seen her for the first time.

"we were worried sick. what happened?"

"nothing really. i just.." she giggled, trying to cover up something.

the girls' bathroom door swung open and the waiter that was flirting with taissa stepped out.

ok. what the fuck happened behind those doors. i want to know.

evan's features looked so distorted and to be honest, it shook the shit out of me. i was never the one to get easily scared, but the rage behind his dark brown eyes blew the candle inside of me.

"evan, what's wrong?" tessa placed her small hands on evan's arm and it somewhat calmed him down; his tensed muscles were now relaxed.

praise jesus for tessa.

after that, the three of us went silent. no one had the courage to speak up due to the awkward tension building up out of nowhere.

tessa being tessa, she stood up from her chair and smiled at us. her presence and enthusiasm is so contagious sometimes i fear she's not human.

"you two," she paused, "quit being grumpy pants." it made evan giggle. his eyes squinted as his dimples appear beside his crooked smile.

i want to say he reminded me of kyle, but no. there was something else i thought of, a burning sensation started to flame up inside me, but i managed to stop it.

i shouldn't feel anything towards him. we're just friends. yeah that's right.

friends.

"tess, where are we going? ugh. i'm too tired. can i just go back to my hotel room and sleep for as long as i want?"

"no." she replied in a child like manner, it was cute though.

"we're going to this circus tonight so we could loosen up and spend some time together before you start filming."

she has a point.

"ok.." i trailed off, "so it's just the two of us?" she shook her head.

"taissa's coming, with her friend."

"oh, ok." a thunderbolt struck my body and i felt energized and revived again.

hours later

"evan, open the door." she said in a calm voice.

"yeah, i'll be there in a minute." i tied the laces on my shoes and after that looked at the mirror one last time to make sure i don't look that overdressed.

i pulled the door open and i was greeted by a warm hug.

"let's go?" i nodded.

"oh yeah, i almost forgot," i raised an eyebrow, "taissa will just meet us there. she said she has something else to do beforehand."

i was gonna say something, but it felt like my mind ran out of words to say so i just nodded my head.

"this is dumb. i give up." i tossed the last ring and walked away from the booth.

"evaaan!" i turned around and saw tessa holding a huge ass teddy bear. it honestly looked creepy as fuck.

"thank you!" she screeched in my ear as she snuggled me. i chuckled and smiled at her; she looked adorable.

"taissa!" my eyes wandered around the place and saw her.

with the waiter.

from the pancake shop earlier.

what the hell?
