when my eyes slowly met the warmth of the light coming from the window, i felt vibration on my upper left thigh.
someone must be calling me.
i pulled my phone out and was kind of half-happy half-disappointed with what i saw.
i was sort of hoping kyle was the one who thought of me, but it was actually vera.
it's been three days since the last time i talked to her and i miss her so much.
"hey, how are you?"
"i'm.." my throat was a bit dry so i coughed with all my strength to sound as decent as i could, "i'm good. actually, i'm over the roof excited for our shooting tomorrow!" i squealed under my raspy voice.
"that's good to hear tai." i didn't get a hint of happiness in her words, it was rather sarcasm.
a sigh echoed from the other line and it froze me. literally froze me in my seat.
something's wrong and i need to find out what it is.
before i could open my mouth, vera asked, "have you been dating anyone lately?" i nodded and mentally slapped myself for stupidity.
"yeah...why?" curiousity filled my voice as i eagerly waited for her answer.
"how old is he?" my grip on the phone has gotten tighter when the question was heard by my ears.
"i don't know..." she sighed so i decided to come up with a lie, "he's 18, v. don't worry about it." she chuckled, obviously catching up on my pathetic attempt of lying.
"come on t, you're a better actress than that!"
"what?" i quietly replied, guilty.
"admit it, t."
"admit what?"
"that he's 24 and you've been in his hotel room for two days."
is she talking about evan. oh god no.
no no no.
how did she even know evan?
"wait..how did you know? are you stalking us? me?"
"goodbye, t. i love you too."
"no wait, v. i need answ-" my phrase was cut off by the flat tone on the other line.

"tai, are you alright?" i asked as i stare at her; wandering her eyes around the place at a slow pace, as if she was some detective trying to find evidence.
"tai..." i tapped her shoulders and she jolted back up.
"HE'S NOT 24 V.." when she realized who she was talking to, she gathered herself together and tried to look for words of apology, i guess.
"i'm sorry, ev." she sighed and massaged stress out of her temples.
"it's just..my sister..vera," she looked at me with her glossy, brown eyes, "she thought...i was dating you." a spark of excitement was sent through my veins and it took every fiber of my being not to squeal. i don't even know why i feel this way towards her when i should know by now that i am nothing more than a friend to her.
"oh." was the only word that came out of my chapped lips.
"i'm sorry..." she trailed off, "i hope this won't affect our friendship though. i don't want you to feel awkward around me." she hid her face in embarrassment.
