"Once you humans arrived..." Andro said as he looked the Captain in his eyes. "...you thought we had something to do with it, so your soldiers started attacking us too. What saved us, was the Basinites were concentrated more on the humans than us so you were forced into defense instead. We barely managed to escape..." Andro said as he looked at the empty slot on his side. "...As far as what just happened, I jammed their signal. I've discovered that the Basinites aren't exactly lifeforms. They're probes...very nasty probes, but probes none the less. I've managed to capture one to study it for weaknesses which is fairly easy. The only problem is getting past their defenses which I hate to say, even for me, is quite difficult. Achievable, but not without a helluva a plan."
A'Nika noticed the dents and dings along his arms and felt a great sorrow for what he went through this past year, almost hating him for forcing them to leave him behind, but glad that he survived.
"Hitting them with high yield energy weapons and explosives will do until they form a swarm. As long as you stay separated, they'll stay separated, and hand to...tentacle combat isn't exactly recommendable. Also, they're highly adaptable but they cant get past their swarm protocol, only two to an enemy if one is destroyed, so attacking them in small groups will prevent the swarm from being so large. You just happened to walk into a manhunt on this one. Now that I've figured them out, I am a high level threat to them, which is the reason why we were hiding here. Now that they know where we're at, it wont be long before they get here." He finished.
He wasn't mad at the humans for attacking them because he understood their fright, especially after his hollow matrix went down after being damaged and exposing their true form. Just frustrated that he never took the time to study their battle tactics instead of hand to hand combat, which made it difficult for them to escape with the Basinites attacking them too. The Tyrianian's physiology was even more fragile than the humans. His only defense was that he had the ability to weaken his density allowing objects to pass through him, so he managed to get away unscathed. Unfortunately, it also prevented him from helping other than warning Andro of any incoming threats.
"How long before they get here?" the Captain asked.
"Not long, but long enough for me to get you guys ready." Andro said as his chest plate opened up.
He reached in and pulled out a large sealed clear container filled with a white syrupy liquid, but before he could explain what it was, a soldier stood up and fired his weapon into the darkness behind Andro. The blue laser was deflected into the tunnel wall causing a small cloud of debris to rain down on something emerging from the opening. The rest of the soldiers all stood and took aim just as Andro stood in front blocking them. The Captain placed his hand on the closest soldier's weapon and gently pushed it down, causing the rest to lower their weapons.
"It's ok, he's a friend. Fellas, met June bug." he said as he stepped to the side, allowing the introduction.
What came from the darkness, was what looked like a six foot green and orangish humanoid four armed praying mantis. Upon seeing him, A'Nika flew to him and embraced him tightly, glad to see the messenger still alive. She stepped back and examined him at arms length, admiring his new colors.
