𝕶ING'S LANDING WAS bustling with the chirps and chatters of men, women, and children. Their talks and gossips whipped around and winded up as incoherent words as they echoed through Madelaine's open window. She laid, exhausted from lack of sleep, staring up at the cracked ceiling over her head. Her thin walls were peeling, and the weathered floorboards under her bed creaked with the slightest movements.

She twisted and turned, trying to decipher what words said as she listened. She couldn't but assume the gossip was about the King and Queen, even after the weeks that had passed since their wedding consummation. Even the tiniest details between Tommen and Margaery were rumored and gossiped about among the people in King's Landing.

Madelaine's eyes opened once the scent of roasted pork filled her room. It made her mouth water. "Madelaine!" Kyenna called from downstairs. Her voice was loud as it traveled through the cracks between boards, "We must hurry! We are late." With a sigh, Madelaine pushed herself up, turning and stepping on the cold wood.

"Coming!" Madelaine responded, pulling over her oddly stitched bodice and apron. She ran her thin hands through the tangles of strong, brown hair, and finishing it off by tying it back in a tight braid. She picked up the tiny piece of shattered glass to check herself. Pulling out strands of her hair, she set it down and shoved her sandals on.

Instinctively, she let a hand roam up to the silver decorated pendant, checking if it was there like she does every morning. Walking over to the ledge, Madelaine shut the boards allowing the room to grow dark as she left it. Making her way down the stairs, she passed Kyenna who held her hands on her hips and staring at Madelaine, "Took you long enough."

Madelaine shrugged her cloak on, "This wouldn't of happened if we woke up earlier." Kyenna followed Madelaine out of the building. Before they made their way down the narrow alleyway, Kyenna pulled the door toward her with all her strength, making sure to wedge the door in a place where it would be hard to open. That was something Kyenna had to make sure to do until she fixed the lock.
