walking back to your apartment after a long night with your best friends, actually correction, your ex-best friends. you thought they invited you out so you all could have a good time but that's not what they had in mind. they actually invited you to tell you that they didn't want to be friends with you anymore because "you changed", but in all honesty, you knew why they didn't want to be friends anymore. it's because you and your now ex-boyfriend broke up, they were just hanging out with you because you and him were dating.now that you're not dating him anymore they didn't see any reason to hang out with you anymore. you were a little shocked when they told you the news but deep down you already knew that it'd eventually happen, you just never expected it to happen a week after the break-up. as you walked along the sidewalk, you saw a figure laying on the ground. you furrowed your eyebrows as you got closer and started to make out features of the unconscious male.
there weren't many people out and about but there were still some, but no one stopped and checked on the male, which makes you feel a little bad for him. you looked around as you got closer to him, you squatted down beside the male and tapped on his shoulder. he didn't move. you tapped on his forehead this time but he stayed still. you noticed that his cheek had a cut on it but it wasn't bleeding any more.
you began to think that he was just a drunken man that passed out on the sidewalk and probably cut his face in the process. you got up and fixed your clothes, straightening them out as you walked passed him and took a few steps before stopping in your tracks. 'damn my kindness.' sighing, you walked back over to the man and grabbed his arms, trying to pull him up but he weighed a fuck ton for some reason. "ahh fuck" you mumbled as you felt your muscles begin tiring. you didn't want to use your power in a situation like this but you couldn't really think of anything else.
a few young men saw you struggling and came to your aid, while three of the men were trying to lift him onto his feet the fourth man started making conversation with you. "is he your friend?" saying no would not be the ideal thing to say so you awkwardly laughed and nodded. "ugh I can't believe he would make a lady carry him, a pretty one at that." you chuckled and just nodded "he's been having a rough day and he needed to have some fun." you looked over and saw that they finally got the man to his feet, you quickly went to the man's side and wrapped his arms over your shoulder and thanked the men for helping you.
you began walking away and surprisingly the man began walking with you, not actually walking more like occasionally taking a step then you having to drag him some more. you didn't smell any alcohol on him so you began wondering why he was passed out in the middle of the sidewalk. 'maybe he's actually dead' you laughed at the thought but then started getting paranoid. you focused on your back, waiting to feel his chest raise from the intake of air. you mentally sighed in relief when you felt it.
you were (barely) able to find a spot to place him down as you caught your breath, you had sat him on top of a pile of trash bags— it may seem wrong but it's better than putting him on the cold, hard ground and the trash didn't have a smell to it so that's even better. after you were able to steady your breathing you pulled out your cell phone and checked the time. "damn it's getting late and it's started to get cold out. what should I do, what the hell should I do?" looking up from your phone, you looked around for a convenient store and saw one a couple of meters away.
you looked back at the man then looked up at the store. "be back." you said placing your phone back into your pocket, walking in the direction of the store. you entered and greeted the person working behind the counter. "hello! do you have anything that'll keep me warm?" the clerk pointed down an aisle and told you that there were heating blankets at the end. you thanked them and walked back the aisle, you grabbed about two of them and looked at the prices.
"$1500 yen each?! unknown man you better be thankful I'm making sure you don't catch a cold." you sighed and walked down the food aisle. you grabbed a few granola bars and a bottle of water, remembering that he had a cut on his cheek you also grabbed some ointment and some bandaids. after getting everything you needed you made your way to the front to pay for the items.
looking at the receipt you shook your head and folded it up, placing it in your other pocket as you headed back to the unconscious man. you saw that the man was still there laying on the pile, it looked like he hadn't moved an inch. sitting the bag down, you unwrapped the blankets and laid them on top of the man. you then placed the granola bars and the water bottle in between the first blanket and the second one, not wanting them to get super hot. you opened the ointment and applied some onto the cut, you then ripped the bandaid package open and took out a bandaid.
"woah these are freaking huge!" you whispered to yourself as you took off the paper on the bandaid and placed it over the cut. it took up a lot of space on his cheek but at least it wouldn't get infected. you put the ointment and packet back into the bag and sat it in between the blankets. "well unknown man, I have to go. I hope I can find you again so you can pay me back my money." you stood up and turned in the direction of where you thought your apartment was and walked in that direction.
