Despite it being midnight, I'm racing through the forest as fast as I can.
The words ring in my ear.
"Shinobu-sama, he might be dead."
If only I had known sooner, this would have never happened. This is all my fault.
I feel tears forming in my eyes.
"No. Only children can't control their emotions." I tell myself.
As I see Tomioka-san in the distance, I plaster on a smile. I notice Tanjirou is there as well.
"Moshi moshi!" I wave.
Tanjirou seems displeased.
"Shinobu-sama! He..I.."
I can feel the desperation in his voice. It hurts knowing this could have all been prevented if it wasn't for me.
I dig through my pockets and pull out a long, thin syringe.
"Ara Ara.."
I quickly stab the syringe into Tomioka-san's arm.

.
He doesn't wake up.
It felt as though my heart had just sunk into my chest.
"Kamado-kun. It would be best if you leave for now." I say, forcing out a weak smile.
"Ah ok!"
As Tanjirou frantically runs away, I stand above Tomioka-san's resting body.
"Tomioka-san.."
...
"Don't be spiteful, please wake up, Tomioka-san!"
I let out a long sigh.
"I've used an antidote on you with a small dosage of poison inside it to make it more effective."
"I fear that when you wake up, the poison will still affect you."
Why am I talking to him when I know he isn't conscious?
My smile fades away as I stare at him.
"I beg of you, Tomioka-san."
"Wake up."

.
.
I stare off at the moon, it really is beautiful tonight.
Losing focus, I stare at it blankly. It illuminates our entire surroundings..
"Where am I?"
It felt like time stopped, his voice itself overwhelmed me.
I turn to him, he's staring at me blankly. A feeling of immense relief overcomes my entire body as I stretch out my arms and give him a giant hug.
"Why are you hugging me?"
Ignoring him, I take in this moment.
"The moon is lovely tonight, isn't it?"
