Draco's POV

My hand lingers on her leg for longer than it should. I'll never be able to stop thinking about how beautiful she looks tonight, dressed in all black she could pass for a Slytherin.

She leans back on her hands slightly. "Its nice to just relax for a while, tonight's been kind of hectic." She says.

"What happened?"

"The party was so much fun don't get me wrong. It was an absolute blast." She says. "Until Harry kissed me."

"Oh." I give her a sympathetic look. "Did he make you throw up?" I say adding a condescending tone.

"Draco! Harry's a nice guy."

I feel myself tense up. The thought of Harry kissing Jess makes me want to smash his face in! I shouldn't be thinking this way. He's a Gryffindor, she's a Gryffindor, they're probably perfect for each other. Why should I care what they get up to.

"So you've fallen for the golden boy Harry Potter," I roll my eyes in disgust. "Pathetic."

"It's not like that... I pulled away from him actually."

"So you don't like him?" I hate myself so badly for wishing to hear that she doesn't.

"I... I don't know." She sips some more vodka. "He's such a nice guy and a really good friend. He treats me well." She pauses and hands me the flask. "I just don't really feel anything for him."

"He's a twit Jess." I take a sip.

"Oh stop insulting him, you're just jealous cause you didn't get to kiss me Draco." She says playfully. On some level it was true.

She stands now, "The Hall looks so much bigger without everyone here doesn't it?" She twirls around in the empty space, her smile brighter than usual. "It really is beautiful." You are, I thought to myself.

She walks back over to me, this time allowing herself to lay down on the table. "Draco, look up at the ceiling with me." She pulls me back by my shoulder and I lay next to her.

"I've seen it before." I state.

"Yes, but have you ever been able to just really appreciate it like this? Its magnificent."

She was right. It was a perfect moment laying there with her.

Jesinta's POV

I gazed up at the charmed ceiling and watched the twinkling stars, taking in the warmth of Draco's body next to mine.

"There!" he points "Did you see that?" He says in his adorable British accent.

"A shooting star!" I exclaim. "Did you make a wish Draco?"

"How bout you make one instead."

"Ok." I consider this for a moment. "I wish I had a puppy!"

He rests his head on the side to look at me, eyebrows raised. "You used your wish for that?"

"What? Everyone else here has pets."

"Yeah, but only owls, cats or toads."

"Well I never played by the rules anyway. Besides dogs are cute and I love them!"

He laughed at me and refused to break his gaze on me. This made me uncomfortable.

"I should probably be getting back." I sit up and he follows my lead.

I look straight ahead as he leans into me and whispers softly just behind my ear, "Or you could stay?"

I turn to look at him, his ice blue eyes staring directly into mine.

I'd never been this close to him before. Without meaning to I find myself drawing towards him. His eyes fall to my lips as he rests his hand on mine. My chest starts pounding. He makes me nervous.

I couldn't let this happen, I look away from him. "I really should go, I don't want Hermione to realise I've been gone." I say as he pulls away from me annoyed.

"I can't believe you're friends with that filthy mudblood!"

I'm quick to defend her, "Don't call her that! Her blood is just as good as anyone's, being from a muggle family is nothing to be ashamed of."

"Sounds like you're just like her then! I should have guessed you weren't a pureblood." He looks at me disgusted. "People like you shouldn't be allowed in the wizarding world."

"People like me? You didn't seem to mind being around me before! Something as ridiculous as this changes your mind?"

"Its simple Jesinta. I come from an upper class pureblood family, why would I want the company of a disgusting muggle-born like you?"

I get up to leave, completely shocked by his change of character.

"You know what Draco, the sooner you stop quoting your father and decide to think for yourself the better off you'll be."
