"Are you sure you're alright?" Sam asked me.

I suddenly understood how he felt when I was smothering him when he was in the hospital.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine- really Sam," I replied,"Besides- we're so close to East Flurbia. We should really get going. Especially since that Hector guy won't be chasing us anymore."

Sam smiled as he ran his fingers through my fur, my stomach started to get all jumpy, and my cheeks red,"You're right. Are you sure though?"

I nodded,"Yeah yeah, I'm sure. Besides, we have just enough bruckles to rent a car."

-

I was rather jumpy, and hyper. I couldn't believe it- we were this close to finding my mother! I wondered what she looked like. What she sounded like. What she smelled like. Everything basically.

"Sam- you know you can tell me anything, right?" Guy asked.

I nodded,"Of course. What's this about?"

"Well...You had a nightmare on the train, usually when I hold you- you calm down, although that time you didn't. It seemed to just get worse...What was it about?"

I sighed as I started to remember what had happened...I shuddered.

Guy could tell I was starting to panic, without taking his eyes off the road, he gently put his hand on my shoulder.

I took a few deep breaths before I started to speak,"I- I was laying in my old bed. When all of a sudden maggots started to burst from beneath my skin. I- I could feel them wriggling around my body as more and more came to the surface. And- when I tried to scream, I couldn't. I just couldn't no matter how hard I tried."

Guy rubbed my shoulder while whispering,"It's going to be okay Sam, it's going to be okay."

I sniffled while I wiped away my tears,"I know, I know."

I knew these nightmares had to do with my mom. Why else would they always be in my old room? Once I found her- I'm sure everything would be fine. Right? They had to be. I don't know how else I could go on if I didn't find a way to make these nightmares stop.

A few hours later, Guy pulled up in front of a small farmhouse. I was practically about to jump out of my seat.

Guy looked over at me and smiled,"Are you ready?"

"As I'll ever be."

Guy and I got out of the car, I reached for his hand and held on tightly as we walked towards the door. I was instantly overwhelmed with feelings of nervousness and fear. Guy and I stood in front of the door for a few moments in complete silence.

"It's okay Sam, you got this," Guy softly encouraged me.

I took a deep breath, before I finally knocked on the bright white door. I could hear soft shuffling, and then the door opened.

I instantly knew it was her. She had the same white fur as I did, and she was about my height too. She had short white locks of hair that went down to her ears that came out in puffs, and she wore a light blue, long sleeved dress.

She had the kindest eyes too, and she wore a nice smile.

"Can I help you?" she asked cheerfully.

I gulped, trying to pick the right words to say,"Are you Ms. I Am?"

She nodded,"Yes- is there a problem?"

"My name is Sam I Am, I- I'm your son. You gave me up a very long time ago. Do you remember?"

Her face fell, she stayed silent.
